We certainly do not want that - nobody does yet all who play D1 on the larger stage are some way " affiliated": wpri.com/2015/07/07/pc-athletics-reaches-partnership-deal-with-nike/And of course everytime Pitino'$ name emerges it seems PC gets a mention even though he was here but two years and that was some 30 years ago - fact is, he has retained ties, even teased Driscoll about a return just before the "Table for Two" scandal broke. As it is, the whole world of college hoops is literally at the mercy of the US Attorney as they now hold the power and direction of this investigation. Think much larger fish are game here, including the NCAA...

Well said Peter
The so called "school" is a win at all cost business devoid of a moral compass. They are the epitome of a Program awash in money....and the football program may be worse. The former Prez who got out of Dodge should be placed in stocks in the City Square and held up to public ridicule...perhaps as early as this evening if they can track that bastage down.
hey I don't blame the fans...they are crazy and caught up with a win at any cost mentality. We Friar fans are far from perfect too, it's the nature of the beast in the business of sports entertainment these days. I think back to when TW was let go and Fr Shanley reportedly tried to woo Pitino to PC. I know the thought would have been to soothe the savage beast BUT the money...it always comes back to the money and it's influence to corrupt. That which does not kill you, makes you stronger. Enter Stage Right one Keno Davis!

Will the $160-mil sneaker contract stay in place, or will the plug be pulled? Makes a lot of difference regarding how much money they have to spend. Also, the penalty imposed on Louisville for this mess would also make a difference in its job appeal.

I don't think it's Mitchell
When he committed, my son was choosing between Louisville and another school that had National Championship titles and was no stranger to the Final Four.
We called both coaches and told them it was down to their schools.
Coach Rick Pitino rearranged his schedule, to my surprise, and flew in to close the deal.
That night, my son decided he was going to be a Cardinal.
We called the other coach and told him not to bother coming.

Plus the article clearly states the AAU team his son played for was sponsored by Adidas. Mitchell's team "The City" was Under Armour

Agreed, but that may not stop a competing coach or two (think David Duke) from some negative recruiting - suggesting that there's a risk that Ed may be headed elsewhere.

Get's deeper and deeper. What a disgraceful mess Pitino's left as a legacy to Louisville.
