Don't know if he survives but this is not exactly the crime of the century according to Ch. 12 below. SKPD have been known to be a little over-the-top. They should have gagged the little bastage to stop his jaws from flapping. The "more charges" however needs vigilance.
SOUTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. (WPRI) – A staff member of URI’s basketball team was arrested last week following a disturbance at the Ryan Center, South Kingstown police confirmed Monday.
A police report obtained by Eyewitness News said 37-year-old Tyron Boswell was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, both misdemeanors. Boswell is listed as the Director of Basketball Operations on URI’s website.
According to the police report, officers working a concert detail at the Ryan Center Thursday night responded to a reported fight in a men’s bathroom involving members of the basketball team. While trying to break up the disturbance, officers said Boswell started yelling and swearing at them. The officers told Boswell to leave, but said he kept yelling as he walked out of the bathroom.
Officers said Boswell’s outbursts agitated the crowd that had gathered outside the bathroom. Seeing that he was not going to leave peacefully, officers said they decided to place Boswell under arrest. However, police said Boswell kept yelling and struggled with officers as they put him in handcuffs and led him out of the building.
David Lavallee, a spokesperson for URI, released a statement Monday saying Boswell was placed on administrative leave following his arrest.
“The University is aware of the arrest of Tyron Boswell, URI men’s assistant basketball coach, on Thursday, Sept. 14 at the Ryan Center. Mr. Boswell has been placed on administrative leave pursuant to University personnel policies. The University cannot comment further on the circumstances of the arrest, other individuals named in the arrest report or the details included in the arrest report until the investigation of the situation is complete. The University is cooperating with the South Kingstown Police Department for the investigation.” Police said Boswell was released and ordered to appear in 4th District Court on Sept. 28.
South Kingstown police said they anticipate more charges in the future.

Wasn't he involved in the whole "announcement" thing with Terrell and Abu a few years ago?

Rumor has it, they followed Friar Dom into the Men's Room with the intention of mugging him during an intermission break. Fortunately, Huxley was a few steps behind and came to the defense of his master. The two of them managed to slip out the door before Security arrived, and the rest is committed to history on the Police Blotter. Carruthers will be submitting an OpEd piece to Projo, that provides more details

Rhody the Ram knows better! Just ask him what happened the last time he attempted to mess with Huxley. Word has it, the spray paint still hasn't worn off - including an embarrassing "CWO" inscription on his back side...

Boswell is the Expressions slime that handled the Abu and Terrell recruitment. Now an assistant after being director of operations for a year.

I just re-read the URI board and some posters are suggesting that PC players were involved...let's hope that is not the case...

Here's an excerpt from the Narragansett Times today:
"according to the police report, police responded to a report of a disturbance inside the men's bathroom. When police entered the bathroom,a male subject, later identified as URI men's basketball player Stanford Robinson was being restrained by other male subjects.
Robinson had been "acting in an aggressive manner, yelling, swearing and punching a bathroom stall" the report states. As police attempted to break up the fight, Boswell tried to block officers from their path toward Robinson.
According to the report, Boswell "became extremely vocal and was yelling at officers" shouting things like 'who the (expletive deleted) do you think we are'.
When it "was apparent that he was not going to leave peacefully', police notified Boswell that he was under arrest. Boswell continued to resist arrest, struggling aggressively before police were able to secure him in handcuffs.
Boswell told police he had been 'trying to protect his kids', the police report states."
The article goes on to say that Boswell has been placed on leave.

What fight were the officers trying to break up, a melee between Robinson and the Bathroom Stall? There's no mention of a second party - aside from the fact that other male students were attempting to restrain him.
I don't know... If that's the case (i.e.: the kid was blowing off steam for one reason or another), then the cops should have let Boswell and the University (as a coach and representative of the school) handle the matter with this student athlete.
If this is what occurred, then it's understandable why Boswell may have wanted to intervene - although by the sounds of it, he may have gotten a bit too aggressive with his comments. Unfortunate if this is the case
Just my opinion.

So there needs to be more than 1 person involved for cops to intervene in a situation? It says someone called the cops to the bathroom, they didn't just show up. Punching a bathroom stall and doing whatever else he was to cause someone to call for cops and being restrained by others isn't 'blowing off steam'. As usual the full details are completely under wraps so we have no idea what happened. This allows speculation on all sides with different agendas to spew nonsense.

Can't find it online anywhere.
