The Week after the Elite 8 is getting like Black Monday in the NFL. Nine guys on the roster including Bullock and with the two Fr. that's 11.

Edwards is now the only man standing from the recruiting class of what would be next year's juniors. And if he is granted a redshirt, only Jackson will be a member of that class next year at all.
I wish Ricky well in his new destination and hope he finds success on and off the court. While he didn't see much action at PC, he seemed like a great, supportive teammate who undoubtedly contributed in practice. Good luck Ricky

Brizzing, as we Friars call it, has become par for the course across the D1 landscape, most likely the hidden impetus of the steady increase in transfer rates.
Certainly it is a regular part of our program under Cooley. Some direct like Council; others partially so perhaps like Ryan Fazekas.
As much as it can be a concern - the dark flip side of recruiting - it has now become part of the process to be able to compete on the D1 level, especially in the top quadrants where making the Tourney is an expectation.
It sure adds to the pressure of recruiting along with that uncertainty of who will be part of a team year to year. As it is, the Friar staff has their work cut out for them with an impending unbalance lurking after next season.
All the best to Ricky and Ryan - both will find a slot open as they join in the fluid world of transfer madness.

Maybe some scouting strategy/player evals got a little lost or slipped through the cracks between Simon leaving and Battle coming on board.

Program on the rise - play in same league as Main, NH, Vermont, Albany etc - Northeast (?). Sounds like a good spot for him ...
Hope you get your shot Ricky.

Maybe some scouting strategy/player evals got a little lost or slipped through the cracks between Simon leaving and Battle coming on board. Simon left after the 2014-15 season. We had Owens, Edwards, Council, and Zeke before he left...Owens being a idiot really didn't help. He would have been a good player if he had his head on right. And Chukwu leaving in May forced us to add big Q. Missing on Mitchell was big. Swap Mitchell with Council and it would have been a good class on paper if Owens worked out. Our recruiting has took a positive turn since Ivan and Battle got their feet wet. There's been a lot of good gets ever since we got White and it looks like it could get even better. MAL changing his mind for PC says a lot about the momentum they have going right now....and next season's team should be Cooley's best yet imo. We missed on some guys in 2015, and our fall backs weren't good(Council, Edwards, Q)...it's interesting to compare to 2016 where we missed on kids as well(Ponds,Keita, maybe a couple others), but still ended up with White(top 150), Diallo(top 100), Young(over Martquette and other hm's), plus a legit juco in Holt. So what caused the 2015 class fall backs to be so mediocre? Simon and Dre sucked for that class, Cooley got robbed with Mitchell, and Simon + Chukwu put us in a deep hole that spring. Plus bad luck with Edwards and Owens...I think Simon may have been lead on Zeke and Owens, not sure about Edwards/Council.

FYI, Owens hasn't been healthy since that initial knee surgery his senior season. He just had another surgery a little while ago. I think that makes 3 in total on that same knee.

That's too bad and the psychological blow is as difficult to overcome as the physical rehabilitation...hopefully, he can fall back on his music career...

I actually forgot he tore his ACL. Isn't he at a juco in Texas currently?

Owens was on a loaded E1T1 AAU team and stood out. The big problem from what I've heard is he didn't take his rehab as seriously as he should of. He would have been a player here if he had worked out.
It's crazy to think but our fallback guys for 2016 may turn out to be a better overall class than our initial targets.
