Maybe Jim Boeheim will consider retiring a year early, after going out an NIT Winner...

1. We grab the pitch forks and storm "The Bunker"... 2. We accept the fact that we're forced to watch Jim Boeheim pick his nose for at least another game... 3. We print a tee-shirt "My Team Played in the NCAA Play-In Game, and all I got is this Stupid Tee-Shirt", and send it to Chukwu!

I think we hear Syracuse called tomorrow. This crap is so political. If anyone else save a half dozen teams in the land had their resume, there would be no bubble talk. They would be a 2 seed in the NIT.

Actually, any other program (aside from Louisville, SU and UNC)would have been declared ineligible for Post Season Play for another year or two, given the logic that the transgressor shouldn't be given the opportunity to craft its own, contrived punishment for blatant, past violations.

Cuse has those 6 top 50 Ws inculudung three top 25s....so if the top 50 argument works for us..... You can pick and choose a stat that works for that contrarian statement, or you can look at a broader, aggregate of metrics: PC Record: 20-12 SU Record: 18-1 (Advantage: PC) PC SOS Rank: 50 SU SOS Rank: 54 (Advantage: PC) PC Last 10 Games: 7-3 SU Last 10 Games: 5-5 (Advantage: PC) PC Power Ranking: 43 SU Power Ranking: 86 (Advantage: PC) PC Bad Losses: DePaul, St. Johns BC SU Bad Losses: UConn, GTown, St. Johns, BC (Advantage: Toss Up)

Find the post where I said Cuse gets in over pc....and last 10 games means zero... I don't need to, but do me a favor, and find the post were I was saying that PC gets in over SU... My point, Walk (in response to your "...if the Top 50 works for US" statement), is that the Committee looks at a broader set of metrics. Yes, the wins against Top 50 are important, but that's not necessarily enough to "work" for US, or any program. What "hopefully" works for US, is the broader set of metrics. Not certain that SU (independent of PC) has what it takes to get by the Committee. We shall see whether PC does. By the way, in toss up situations, the Committee does consider whether Teams are "peaking at the right time", so the record over the final part of the season is important

The peaking at the right time metric has been eliminated according to committee members...

Then call me a skeptic, Walk.
I don't sense that the process is antiseptic and objective. I would have a hard time believing that within the Committee's process, there isn't some measure of subjectivity (based bias or personal perspective), that comes into play for the final selections - as well as the Seedings. For instance, if you put two 20-11 teams in front of me, and one was 2-8 over the last 10 games while the other just finished an 8-2 run, I might consider that when casting my votes.
Without some room for objectivity, why not just let "IBM Watson" tell us who in the field of 63, together with the 4 Play-in teams.

We know that Lunardi and these other prognosticators are never 100 pct. There will be a surprise inclusion, a snub, and several will be seeded different from what we expect.
