Most likely but he also might may not have enough credits to graduate in May.

The millennials started up their "We want Casey chant" with 11 min left and DePaul had just cut the lead to 7 on a 3 pointer...Luckily the team responded to DePaul's run and re-opened the lead to 18 or so......But when the millennials started their chant up again with about 4 min to go and the Friars holding about a 12 or 13 point lead, TheFriarMan did not appear to be amused. Fortunately we held on and Casey got his minute and change to the roar of the crowd.

So true Dmac, the friarman would have ejected the whole bunch if it was within his power. He was somewhat distracted however with his pre-occupation with the moisture on the floor. BTW that was caused by the sweat of those MFer refs exerting energy to blow the friggin whistle all night. That was one despicable crew last night and Val should withhold their wages for that embarrassing performance. I also hope Fox Sports refuses to pay the league for that marathon game until Cahill is fired as head of refs.
Meanwhile in this thread we have our leader and resident genius KORE Czar wtm calling for Woodring to start last night's game. I kept looking over my shoulder to see if the men in white coats and a net were coming to take two lunatic KKB members from our section. Now Dmac you know what I am forced to endure every game with those two...I really need to move next year to #neverthumper's section. Compounding my problem is the Men's Room behind our seats is too small.

All of this was being quietly observed by "the Twins" from their perch above.

I believe fri 71 is suggesting that he may not have a choice. Was going to post the same but didn't feel like taking crap. Suppose it's possible if he missed time with the knee and the incident but I do feel that him not being honored last night cements that he will be back.

Dex, you should strongly consider moving to 232 and we might be inclined to invite you to join us at Muldowneys or even Murphy's pre/post game!

Thought the students cheering "WE WANT CASEY" was hilarious - it actually started before the game did. Look, the fact that they are even at the games is a great improvement; many were wearing these snappy Senior Night T-Shirts that had Woodring's career stats listed - tongue in cheek - and again great to see...
Yes many are clueless as to the importance of that game yet they were present. When things were tense for a moment and the "We Want Casey" chant started again LOUDLY, friarman was held down in his seat and he complied - all in good fun.
The DUNK was FREEZING cold - still some floor problems. It is unacceptable yet I doubt they have anyone with any expertise to fix the problem and I doubt it will even be seriously discussed/addressed. Sort of like going to the concession stand to watch the server move sloth-like taking several minutes in a failed attempt to secure the plastic top on a couple of minuscule Pepsi sodas....they were $4 smalls - not much larger than a double-shot glass...really. Two tiny sodas a pretzel + a hot dog = $17.50 thank you.
Many Military Honors last night - as always welcomed and wonderful.
As the National Anthem was being sung, the microphone began to cut in and out (surprise, surprise) and to everyone's subtle delight the entire house started to loudly sing the Anthem - it was spontaneous, special and moving...
The Casey Woodring presentation was great as were the other thank you/farewells to the Senior Cheerleaders, Dance Team, staffers, etc. - well done PC, well done.
Great crowd just over 10,000 was somewhat subdued during game play yet the game was truly a junkyard dog fight - say what you want about cellar-dwellar DePaul but there is NO QUIT in those kids and their coach Laito,(sp), has done a good job in the enormous task of reviving that dormant program. Hopefully their move to their new arena much closer to their campus will help them get some support.
Last time to see one of the favorites, and all the very best to Billy Garrett JR. who has played for 4 years while battling sickle cell disease. Class act - obvious hard worker who made himself into a decent Big East caliber player.
The referred to "twins' are a stoic presence right behind us every game - hardly moving, they have probably been in those seats forever; with their Friar caps in place they are among our many great fans - characters all - seriously the Dunk has a lot of "characters".
Refs were intrusive and annoying at times but what can you do?
Late game had this Friar home just around midnight - but as always the excellent post-game radio show helped ease the way - Jeff Battle was the guest and he is quite incisive and impressive...think beyond Big Ed is a solid staff who work very hard - we have come a long way from peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.
On to St. Johns where we control our own destiny. IMO, we are not "in" and this 12 noon gambol shapes up as a must win. Think we need to play different and better than last night to take them down - look for a different strategy from the staff and hope our kids listen and follow the plan.
GOFRIARS!

The student section doesn't have a clue about basketball. That's why they started chanting for Woodring with 10 minutes left. They just sneak in alcohol, get drunk, chant obscenities, and leave. The students sitting behind me didn't even know that they play non-conference home games. What a great student section we have.

There was no doubt many of the students were a bit juiced up last night. Heard pre-game many seniors were there (might be a first for them) because Casey is a popular member of the senior class (albeit he is really a post senior class member now I guess).
It was kind of a slap in the face to the players on the court trying to get a win IMHO. Not sure how the players took it and I would bet Casey might have been a bit embarrassed about it.

Get a bunch of college kids together at sporting event, and you're bound to see a ton of self-entertainment taking place. Even at baseline, the majority of the kids probably think they're hilarious, never mind when liquored up around their friends. I really don't think it had anything to do with a lack of basketball knowledge or respect for the other players. More like, "Hey, wouldn't it be funny if we all scream for Casey to play?" "Dude, it's too early; it's not happening." "That's what'll make it hilarious." "F-ck yeah; let's do it!" Haha, or something to that effect.
