Rooke and Hasset were very bullish on tourney chances after the game, to my surpise...They didn't even discount sneaking in somehow with 8-10 finish in BE (which would be 2-2 the rest of the way for reg season) with 1 maybe 2 BET wins................. I find that hard to believe. Live RPI shows the BE currently sits 3rd, behind the ACC and Big 12. www.rpiforecast.com/live-conf-rpi.htmlProvidence currently sits at 57. www.rpiforecast.com/teams/Providence.htmlRPI Simulator Wizard: www.rpiforecast.com/wizard/Providence.htmlPlugging wins into the Wizard even in 3 of the last 4 no matter which ones you choose (even winning @ creighton), means we'd finish 9-9 in the BE. This puts our reg season RPI only at 54 AT BEST. Further, just for fun I plugged a win at the BET in against Butler and a loss in rd 2 against Nova (who knows how seeds will actually shake out) and our RPI only dropped to 51. Without winning the BET or running the table these last 4 I'm not sure I see it. NIT Maybe. Thoughts?

I think we strengthened our position to make the NIT last night. 3 more wins in any fashion locks up the NIT. One game at a time, outside looking in. Would be nice to have had that Seton Hall game last week, or to at least have gotten a shot off in regulation, to see what might have happened. It would have given us another top 50 RPI win.

I'm sticking with what I've been thinking...if 9-9 includes at Creighton, plus we win 1 at MSG we have a real legit shot. If we lose at Creighton and win the other 3 plus 1, I can see us end up being just short but still legitametly in the discussion. So basically, I'm saying 20 wins on selection sunday gives us a shot(how good of a shot depends on scenarios) and there is no doubt with 21 wins.

a 3-3 finish gets us in the NIT and I think we get in at 2-2 and a first round L. Still don't see how we get our RPI in the 40s without winning out so barring a Friday night W over Nova in the BE Semi, we either get the auto invite or zippy.

Thankfully, there is something to look forward to...
I may go into another decline once this Friar season and college basketball ends in the upcoming weeks...
November seems far away... and another season of hope and joy... and Cartwright, Bullock and Lindsey, and et al...

If we go 3-1, beat Creighton/Butler/X in quarters, and lose to Nova in semis, I think we are in last 4/first 4 categories. All depends on what everyone else does. Anything short of that is NiT, which is better than I thought we'd be 2 weeks ago.
I'm just glad I'm interested in bubble games, RPI factor games, etc. makes this time of year a lot more interesting.

My take on "Post Season" chances...
- With a few more wins, we've secured a place in the NIT - While the "Bubble" is weak now, I'll defer final judgement until Conference Championships are played out. A few upsets always seem to eat into the at large bids - To be in control of it's destiny, PC really needs to win out the regular season, and perhaps take two at MSG. That would bring us to 22 wins, which would help to offset our bad losses, and reflect that we're a team that peaking - which the Committee likes

I think FriarA is spot on with saying we need 4 more wins to have a legitimate shot. We will have at least 1 bad and 2 ugly losses on our resume, but we will probably have more top 100 wins than any other bubble teams. So it will really come down to whether or not our good wins are substantial enough to offset our bad losses.

Memphis blowing a 17 point lead over UConn and completely melting down in the last couple of minutes didn't help our cause.

Hope for the best, Dex. I think we lose by 10 or more. I would be shocked if we beat them.
