Oh Draif that's great...Kalif Young like a Phenix rises from the doldrums of a mostly disappointing Frosh year and eviscerates the Sky's The Limit next Bill Russell to Shock The World as the Friars take down The BlueJays and 18,000+ crazies. You poor bastage...I wish I could give you a hug and a mug.
As for you Yank...I pronounce you mentally and emotionally fit as a fiddle.

LAst night watching Indiana- Iowa on ESPN with Bonco, they flashed the tourney status, and had Providence in the "First Four Out".....Crazy. That said we have virtually no margin for error here on out. Maybe can lose 1 game, and do work at BET...... and tonight @creighton is probably a sorely needed road get for the resume. Steep hill.

Kalif Young has legit size and athleticism. Tight attendance numbers allowed me to watch a few games up close and Young's athleticism caught me by surprise. He's a bull on a basketball court trying to figure the game out on the fly, IMTO..
As far as post season chances, I think we fall just short of the NCAAs. I even think there's a decent chance we can steal a win tonight, but I question this team's ability to win out because there's just not enough consistency on this roster. This season, I would say a lot of minutes have been played out of need. There have been rough patches, but this experience should give us one of the deeper teams we've seen under Cooley next season.

Well that was a giant leap last night. Still much work to do. Need to win out, and possibly may still need 1 at BET. We will see. 1 game at a time, Marquette won't rollover Sat, but the Dunk will be out of their mind.

Matt Velazquez@matt_Velazquez 2h2 hours ago If Marquette, Providence & Seton Hall all finish 9-9 in BE as KenPom projects, #mubb only wins the tiebreaker w/ win on Saturday. Huge game.
Jerry Carino@njhoopshaven 12h12 hours ago If they all split with each other, SHU's the odd man out and falls to 7th. if Providence sweeps Marquette, SHU finishes 6th. Big difference.

So we're talking spots 5-7 and we're the leader for 5th with a win on sat? Probably our best shot at getting in the dance actually. Win that first round game and a loss to Nova wouldn't kill us.
PC Marq SHU
Basically playing for the right to play Xavier and get an at-large.

Marq will be equally as desperate and hungry Sat knowing their post season is also on the line.

Will be a very physical war on Saturday regardless of how they play - a nasty rock fight would not be a surprise.
Marquette wants revenge, they think they are better than us, (always), and have been clawing their way back recently.
We need a loud rowdy Dunk ready to rumble.
Cooley will have our Friars ready from a game strategy standpoint.
What we need is a team who is not resting in the glow of last night's improbable W at Creighton - we need a focused group out to earn respect. Marquette is far from "soft" and their coach is a hungry young man on a mission...

Info, you are missing Illinois st as the last team in after TCU...I don't see it with Ill st, TCU, Cal, Gtech(although GT does have the big wins, their rpi is bad). Should be ahead of 2 or 3 of them atleast. Not sure if all of the brackets have been updated in there, but we made a nice jump. Kansas st 1 spot above Cal is far from safe at the moment as well. And MSU better win tonight for their sake.
Incredible opportunity Saturday. We control our destiny.

It looks like 27 brackets were updated today and of those, 21 have us in. Obviously a lot can and will happen in the next 2 weeks, but if we win out we may not even need to get one in NYC since we will most likely play Xavier in the 4-5 game where a loss won't hurt us. We have 6 top 50 wins at the moment, which is a lot for a team on the bubble. That will fluctuate greatly as three of our wins are over teams currently 46-50, but that's still a good number. Take care of Marquette on Saturday, and we will have 10 top 100 wins, possibly 11 if Memphis can get back inside that number. The committee in recent years seems to be favoring good wins more than it punishes for bad losses, so if that holds true this year, we will have a major leg up on most of the bubble.
While all we have to do is take care of our business, it would be nice if Gonzaga or St. Mary's wins the WCC, VCU or Dayton the A-10, Cincy or SMU the American, Wichita or Illinois St. the MVC (with the other losing early), and then probably UT Arlington and Middle Tennessee win their respective leagues. To further pad our RPI, we need to root for Vermont to win the America East and stay in the top 50.

Is that wrong thinking on my part?

Illinois St Rpi in the low 30s I believe....they should be included. Especially considering the need for mid majors into the bracket.
