Have seen some recent posts about Diallo becoming the go-to-guy. What are your thoughts on his ceiling, strong points, weaknesses, etc.? Any player comparisons?
What I see: -Composed player for a freshman. Doesn’t take many risks at this point. -Good basketball IQ. -Potential to become a solid rebounder from the wing -Solid handle for a kid his size -Could become an 80% free throw shooter
Some questions: -What kind of perimeter shooter can he become? Currently shooting 20% from three. -I have not seen any type of first step that allows him to beat his man off the dribble. Is it in him?

He reminds me of Jeff Green pre- NBA. He had some point forward in him, a nice midrange game and created plays for others. That's what I see in Alpha. He won't kill you with athleticism and quickness but he is steady.

Would like him convert to a full-fledged two at some point. If he has next-level aspirations, he should want that move also due to size. Work to be done. He's only shooting 39% from the field and 21% from three.

if he's our primary 2G as a jr we've struck out big time on the recruiting front....

He's my favorite player on the roster...I think he becomes our #1 or #2 scorer next year...

Maybe a smaller version of Geoff McDermott? One who doesn’t throw the ball into the stands? McDermott was a better rebounder but Alpha has more scoring potential.

Alpha has been averaging 15 ppg over the last 5 games. He is coming on really strong.

Alpha has been averaging 15 ppg over the last 5 games. He is coming on really strong. Actually its only 12.4, unless you mean just home games. But importantly, catch this...in those last (5) games, he's shooting 57% from the field, while still only being 39% for the season. Take out Marquette (0-3 for 2-pts) and it looks even better.

I think walk's comp of Josh Hart is pretty damn good....Draif's comp of McDermott ...Hmm how should I say it to a friend
OK I got it...Josh Hart is a good comp at this point and comparing Alpha to Geoff is not.
Great thread though from Peck's Bad Boy

similar ranking to hart...similar styles.
How are his stats if we don't count his missed FGs and TOs?

Glad I tickled your funny bone Draif.
Caution: Alpha is NOT a lot of things 3/4 thru his Frosh year
But Spring and Summer will come before you know it.
If he works half as much as Cotton, we could see a nice jump in his game.
For me the kid has that je ne sais quois thing going for him Potentially I see a solid all-around game as a minimum..But if he takes that jump...I recall one of the assistants saying to me the day after the verbal: "This was a huge get"
