I watched first half Butler at St Johns at Carnesecca Arena....38 to 38.
Moving on to Celts and Bruins but both those BE teams are considerably more talented than us. We can compete at home if the Bulldogs keep playing that unbelievable bum Tyler Lewis at PG...and with the Johnnies if they lapse out of control. Like some of us, or at least me, said in pre-season ... we don't have a single star on the team. We can still win a few games because we have a great coach and great fans at The Dunk.

St. Johns looks tough. If they had a coach they wouldn't finish in the bottom 3. Ponds and Lovett may be the 3rd or 4th best tandem in the league behind Nova and Creighton. Ahmed is getting better everytime I watch them too.

Ahmed getting better too...I "think" I saw team chemistry emerging as far as the Johnnies go.
Remember they were coming off a rout of the perfidious RATS at Carrier too
I have not seen Depaul

So...how much time until the media pundits start to talk down the rankings of the BE's top teams, referencing the tough games that they've had with the lesser teams in the conference?

I have not seen Depaul or Marquette this year.
Can anyone opine as to whether we are better than those two teams if Bullock plays lousy instead of horrible?
Every other team seems to have more talent than our assemblage.

Marq will be a problem...legit 5 plus guards who can take you off the dribble...
Haven't seen depaul.
When you say more talent, are you saying its time to brizz? Who are the keepers?

Thanks...haven't given that much thought yet.
I know we should keep KC, Jalen, Holt, the frosh and maybe Edwards if healthy.
I would like to see Rodney benched to see what's in his head. If he starts playing team ball he can stay
So far Jackson looks like a mistake and Zeke may be the only player in the USA benched for NOT shooting.
Council? Who is he? What does he do? Why did he stay? Mystery Man
I would never recruit a starting Guard that isn't at least 6-3...it's just the way it is these days with few exceptions.
I am bully on Battle and Thomas filling the cupboard over the next couple of years
Like I said the other day...we don't need a Billy Donovan Jr, we need a Ray Donovan.

I have a lot of hope for Jackson after last game. He is solid sized, versatile, can pass a little, and do a little of everything really. If he can build off of last game confidence wise when it comes to scoring, he may be a solid player. Gotta give it more time here.
Talent wise, I'm fine with our top 5 plus the freshman. Getting the 2 bigs next year will fill one of our needs, now we need to get a scoring guard or hope either White and/or Diallo can make big strides by next year. Hope Edwards sticks around since I still like him. Could be a nice 5 year piece if he sticks it out.
Still think this current team can scrap together 7-10 wins. Tomorrow will tell us a lot. BC was a bad day, X is a top 10 team, Butler is a beatable team as SJ showed.

thefriarman and I agreed last night at the hockey game on one question after seeing Butler lose to St Johns:
How did Butler beat all those good teams?
So '94 I agree that tomorrow starts to tell a story. The problem with comparing us to anybody right now is that Rodney Bullock mine as well be Rodney Dangerfield because his total game is a joke. He snaps out of his shooting slump And plays better team ball and we are competitive at home with bottom half of the league.
As far as 10 wins this year, have you started celebrating the new year early? If they win 10 I will designate you as the greatest Friar message board mind ever. It's a tall order when you don't have an experienced center and no SG again. Josh Fortune is not walking through that door. Regardless...you are a great fan of the Friars and I pray you nailed it with 10 wins. Cooley is a fierce competitor but it remains to be seen if our boys can will themselves to wins...even with a deficiency in talent to most of the competitors the rest of the way.

Ain't winning with Bullock on the bench. Play him; don't sit him. Teams are starting to defend him better and it shows in his results. You are hard hearted men. Bet on Bullock,KC, Holt, Lindsey. Go Friars win or lose.

Quite a comeback by Marquette vs. Villanova last night. Down by 15 at the half, I went to bed. Got up early and discovered the comeback, then watched it on a 4-6am rerun.
