"A Jersey Guy" has some nice comments about PC athletics in his blog about the poor state of New England college basketball. Well down in the piece is a comment that Kevin Ollie could be interested in the Lakers job. With the AD's recent move to Michigan, the buyout clause in Ollie's contract is reported to be gone. The fans are very unhappy with their conference and home games are simply not the same as they used to be. There is no permanent AD yet...and the State's budgetary woes will soon inflict a massive hit on the University. The University's President testified before the legislature that the cuts could easily result in the loss of some sports at UConn. And, of course, the women's team will win yet another national championship in March and will be the toast of the State. Seems to me Ollie may bolt to the NBA if given the opportunity, especially if he doesn't have to deal with an aging superstar on the decline in LA... ajerseyguy.com/?p=13291

I hope Ollie bails. Would like another shot at Mamadou Diarra if he were to want out of his LOI as well.

Who was more of a pia - the aging superstar in LA or the retired Superstar in Chicago? Both insufferable and one of the reasons I came to not care anymore for nba basketball. Them and David Stern's disingenuous cult of personality.

BC almost got their first league win last night. UMass is putrid. You don't hear much in the Boston market.

Thanks for sharing those tidbits connfriar
How ironic it is that the program that tried and tried to leave the Big East with the rest of the scoundrels and screw Tranghese...have placed their trust in Mike to find a way out of their present mess or at least to ameliorate it a bit. I hope he's hosing them for big bucks.

I guess mike doesn't agree. UConn was scrambling for a life jacket. They had no choice.
