I watched the game to count the number of air balls from last night the Friars shot.
11 freaking air balls mostly in the first half. Kris had 3 or 4 himself. Council had 2 on the same possession.
And then there were the clangs off the rim. When they missed they really missed.
Amazing they didn't get blown out by 20+, mainly due to the 20+ TOs Xavier had but Friars could only score 16 points off those. PC also had too many TOs on their own, perhaps the biggest was Kris throwing the ball over Junior's head when they were down just 3 with plenty of time on the shot clock and game clock.
All 3 losses at home have been winnable games if they just shoot slightly better.
Bench points vs Xavier was pathetic.
If they are not getting contributions from at least 2 others (i.e. double figures) to go along with Ben and Kris on offense, they will continue to struggle to win.
Thinking they really need the next 2 on the road, certainly the DePaul game. Won't be easy that's for sure especially if they keep shooting 30% and even worse from 3.
GTown game Saturday night on road, will be played same time as Hockey Friars playing UNH at home. Looks like DVR time.

Yup, just remembered Dunn had two airballs on jump shots from the baseline area.
11. Wow. Very possibly a BE record.

Josh Fortune would be playing 35 minutes a night on this team.
People say where would we be with Paschal, where would we be with a Senior Josh Fortune and his 2015-16 41% three point shooting? Dunn kicked the ball out very well last night after being doubled and tripled, but without a consistent outside threat, we lost. Things would open up a lot more for Dunn if we had 1 guy the opposition couldn't afford to sag off of. Xavier took their chances leaving us wide open for many looks, and it worked.

Matt Norlander from CBS Sports says the Friars are a fun team to watch with one fatal flaw, out of all likely NCAA tournament team's they are the worst in 3 point shooting.

Well that's a post and a half Yank...yep he was run out of town for a couple of out-of-bounds plays one of which was not even his fault.
So the coach takes a page from Wright and recruits "shooters" in Drew, Ricky and Zeke. Venerable poster Friar71 says that light will go on for the boys and they will pick up on the shooting percentage. Pray tell he's right because ranking or no ranking, this crap is hard to swallow...embarrassing actually as the research by friarman points out.
You should have heard the air go out of the John and Joe broadcast when poor Kris sailed that pass over Albert's head. "What was he going to do with it anyway" Joe exclaimed.
Imagine being 17-4 and wondering if you can exceed .500 in Big East play based on what you see on the floor some nights. So far one of the weirdest seasons in Friar history.

I hear you loud and clear Dex. If not for several good breaks (Illinois, URI and Creighton being 3 obvious ones) we are a 14-7 or worse team.
Bad pass to Junior aside, Dunn had 7 assists and should have had at least 15.
Per ESPN: It was Dunn's 2nd game this year where he has had at least 15 points, 7 boards, 7 assists and 7 steals in a game, no one else in college basketball has even done it once.

...and with "normal below average shooting" Kris would have had 17 assists against the frosh dominated Marquette Golden Eagles. Plus last night what was Rodney like 1-9 3 pts and 20 bobbles? This team is an enigma to me...with the two superstars we just need offensive contributions from one or two other guys, like the Nova game, and we can win, and win big. Will it happen? Friar71 thinks so and he could just be right. There is no denying we compete alright and our defense is usually pretty good.

My positive takeaway from last night... The students were out in force, and the Dunk was rocking for a few minutes. Amongst the hysteria, I suspect that a student or two were converted to life long Fanastics last night. I remember the night that I was snake bit as an out of town Freshman. And so, the circle of life is re-propagated for us Friar fans...a beautiful thing if you ask me. Hopefully, their passion will be rewarded in more frequent cycles than many of us have endured. I believe that Ed's best days in Providence are ahead. www.coxhub.com/articles/this-play-perfectly-illustrates-what-makes-kris-dunn-special

Dunn definitely had at least three head scratching passes into the stands, including the Lomomba pass. It's such a strange aspect to his NBA game.

Forget this year's fortune, we'd kill for the soph version...sucks to,think what we had on campus
Announcers made a what could of been Chukwu reference last night...
Yankee - I'll give you Illinois. Had no business winning that but you could trade one of the others for marq and we'd be in the same spot.

Wow...how many more years of success will it take for us to relax and finally be done with this damned battered fan syndrome? Baby steps...

Wow...how many more years of success will it take for us to relax and finally be done with this damned battered fan syndrome? Baby steps... Think it's probably going to take a bit of success in March (NCAA, not BET). Honest answer, not being sarcastic.
