Dangerous formula based on BE experience when compared to the rest of the conference... It is a formula that has worked very well for Jay Wright and Company.

The formula in question in the above post was pressing, running and shooting threes. That is the way I read it,addressing style of play. It did not specifically talk about Frosh or any other class.

Then you read it incorrectly....BE experience from those shooting threes is Lindsey and that is it....if the frosh have lindsey type freshman seasons that style ain't gonna work.
Gotta be a tough roster for Ed who came to pc promoting physical play...

Dangerous formula based on BE experience when compared to the rest of the conference... I think running, pressing and shooting the three is the only way next year and we don't have a choice. It hides deficiencies. Look at VCU the past few years. They were a team full of no name kids who won 25 plus games a year because they followed that formula. Rick Pitinos early UK and UL teams were the same way before he started killing it on the recruiting trail also. I also think Lindsey's year last year was an outlier in some ways. I've never seen a recruit be afraid to put the ball on the floor. He limited his own game and made himself very one dimensional. From all accounts Council, Edwards and Fazekas are all shooters but they will create their own offense and drive when necessary. I'm not saying that I expect all three to come in and average 10 PPG but it would not surprise me if one did or got pretty close.

Vcu had the best talent in the conf....ville among the best in the country...
We don't have a choice but it's dangerous imo..
Lots give Lindsey an injury pass but if you look at his published "weaknesses" as a recruit, it matches what we saw on the floor. i was harder on him than anyone and hope like hell it was just a confidence thing. If not, he won't be around very long.

The 2011 Uconn team that won it all is a great example of what having one of the best players in the country can do for you....they also won the BET(when it was much stronger), and Maui Invetational....
That team was extremely inexperienced after Kemba. After him, their other top 4 players were Jeremy Lamb(fr), Napier(fr), Alex Oriakhi(so), and Roscoe Smith(fr)...after that their depth was VERY limited and also very inexperienced. I remember Tyler Olander playing in the championship game as a freshman and thinking "what the hell is going on here".
I think this coming season could easily be our best yet under Cooley. With good health, I'd be shocked if we don't make the dance just as easy as we did this past season. We have the best PG in the country, maybe the best player.

Agreed. With health and our staff having the opportunity to meld the talent it does have to what is going to happen on the court will be fun to watch.Still cannot believe what Cooley and Company accomplished with an Iron Man 6 in the 2014 Season. They only had one guy who could handle the ball----and Cotton was not a 1 until he had to be when Dunn went down. Having the best player on the floor will mean a lot. Do not forget what great coaching can accomplish also.

If not, he won't be around very long. VCU probably was talented for the CAA but they weren't more talented than FSU and Kansas when they made that run to the final four. They had a great system and great coaching. When Pitino first got to Ville in 2001 his best player was Reece Ganes. Those teams weren't stacked by no means. Cooley has shown that he is a good coach and has worked wonders when given some prety crappy hands. If guys can stay healthy and out of trouble this team may surprise.
