New England Recruiting Report's take on Kris going into the draft as it appears on the Cox site www.coxhub.com/articles/should-kris-dunn-go-pro-nba-friarsRight now, Dunn looks to be a mid to late first round pick based on the current projections of the three most commonly cited internet sources. Draft Express ranks him the highest, currently slotting him in the 15th spot (just one away from the lottery) in their most recent mock draft. ESPN has Dunn 20th on Chad Ford's Big Board and also rated as the 3rd best point guard in the field. NBADraft.net currently projects him 22nd overall. While Dunn was a co-winner of the Big East's Player of the Year award, the rise in his NBA stock still has more to do with his potential for that level than his immediate production. Another note in the article What is equally undeniable though is that Dunn isn't ready to run a team at that level just yet. While he has floor vision and playmaking ability, not to mention great defensive ability, he still turns the ball over far too often, gets out of control and becomes overly aggressive at times and isn't a consistent three-point shooter from the NBA arc.

If Dunn wants to retain eligibility then yes the 12th is a big day...but if Dunn decides between the 12th and 26th he wants to leave then he can still enter but there is no return.
So that is the key...the 26th is the day of exhale. But the first date is two weeks from today.

Yeah, the video breakdown of Dunn's weaknesses from the Draft Express report shows just how much Dunn needs to improve. Sure prefer to see him develop here, rather then deep on someone's bench, because he is not ready.

I heard whispers this morning that Dunn is GONE. Hope it was bullshit, but if he goes good for him and it will help Cooley in recruiting. He needs to get the NBA pipeline going again.

There have been plenty of whispers for staying and going. It's so hard sometimes to know who to believe. I spoke with someone on Thursday and they said "He knows he needs another year, I look for him to stay." Then I speak to to someone on Friday "Who told you he is staying? That person doesn't know anything." Today: "Whoever declares him gone is out of the loop." 3 different sources...I expect tomorrow I will get someone saying he is gone. Then on Wednesday (April Fool's Day) I expect a lot of BS to come out. Dunn may even tweet out something to screw with the fans.

No doubt. I've been burned very recently before, so take it for what its worth.... probably nothing. That's the buzz though. As we're all aware in any circle all it takes is 1 person to start a rumor and that just gets echoed around. Only Kris and his family know for sure how he's leaning. To me if he has any guarantee of being a first rounder, and if I where him, I'm gone, but I would love to see him come back and develop his game, take us to the NCAAs again, and earn himself a lottery pick.

Terry Rozier is declaring. Looks like he is close to Dunn in some of the Mocks. Though Dunn is much higher than him on DraftExpress.

I think this team is looking at a better backcourt in terms of scoring and depth. Dunn has to weigh that too. His assists go up, his turnovers go down, he keeps scoring. VERY YOUNG team but he is the undisputed leader with no Henton. I think another thing that gets overlooked is the fact that Dunn, who I think is a shoe-in for the 1st round, could easily end up developing his game with time in the D-league like past 1st round picks: Jeremy Lamb (12th pick) James Young (17th pick) Shabazz Napier (24th pick) - NOT saying he is a D-league player...but teams are using the D-league for development and playing time for some of their younger guys. Do I think Dunn is above that? Sure. But he does have work to do. So that might need to factor in.

Rozier may not be ready but he is a major hardship case...single mom working two jobs....Pitino has mentioned this in the past...hope he gets a first round contract, but I don't know if he goes that high.

Cameron Payne leaning toward entering draft. Possible late first round PG with potential to move up. The couple of times I saw him, he seems to have Joe Young range on his shot
