YES YES YES And the very best part? Remember when he was benched as a Sophomore for a lackluster effort, (maybe vs. Brown?) - remember?
My sense - and he said himself last night - is that Cooley has been very tough on Buck since then trying to reach out and get him to listen and learn. Well, rather than pout and sulk this young man has responded...and his numbers are now there as he has run this MARATHON... * AND before anyone brings up his "assault issue" ? Well there was a reason that was tossed because as improbable as it may sound? Heard he was the one who was assaulted and her going down was all part of the ruse...just sayin' mind you.

Gomes, Murdock, Thorpe? Not saying they were more consistent, but certainly in the conversation. Definitely and maybe their team, freshman year, affected them as well. But Thorpe and Murdock played 25 minutes and scored 10 points as freshmen. I thought of Gomes but his delayed start reduced his freshman year. He was probably just as ready as Henton but didn't get the chance to play right away. Henton putting up 13-14 points each of his first 3 years and playing 37 minutes every game is as consistent as you can get.

I believe that LaDontae is a "poster child" for what Ed Cooley intends to do, when he speaks of making an impact on both the PERSON and the player. As WTM has suggested, I too am waiting for the "Mean Streets" article that Reynolds must be working on, complete with metaphors like - "where dreams fade as fast as a shooting star", and single sentence paragraphs that begin with the word "For". It will be a good read, and one that will no doubt highlight the challenges LaDontae has tackled, in becoming a all-time great among PC players past and present ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- UPDATE: My patience was awarded with this piece by Reynolds. Unlike many, I enjoy his writings - understanding that it's more story telling that hard reporting. www.providencejournal.com/article/20150307/SPORTS/150309400/14014/?Start=1And as for my predictions above (I should go buy a lottery ticket today): 1. Metaphors like - "where dreams fade as fast as a shooting star": CHECK THAT BOX OFF as Bunky comes through with the following: "... a place where too many kids were forever getting jumped, and too many dreams were like flash paper, here one minute, gone the next. 2. Single sentence paragraphs that begin with the work "For": CHECK THAT OFF as well, with this one line paragraph: "For Henton is only the second player in the long history of PC basketball to score 2,000 points and have 1,000 rebounds."... only to be followed up with the following, one sentance paragraph - encore: "For Henton always has approached basketball as if his future is sitting up there on the rim and all he had to do was jump up and take it. "

Fox sports did a nice piece on Ladontae earlier in the season before a game.

Ryan Gomes and LaDontae Henton...neither were November signings. Both were faced with finding a home. Gomes had to work on SAT's for the other schools and in the end said no one was there for him more the Tim Welsh (and Phil Seymore)... Dayton's coaching situation opened the door with Henton.
The diamonds in the rough were shined, polished, and put on display. Terrific stories. Both fitting with the PC basketball tradition. And both fit the motto of New England that you work hard, you fight, and you succeed with a little faith and a little help.
