Nice win for the Bluejays. We will hopefully be getting a tired, less than fully healthy and demoralized Johnnies club on Fox on Saturday, with our Friars raring to go.

What we will have is St. John's in a must win situation. Exactly like the first game. That seldom helps, but win today and grab that opportunity Saturday. The stretch is here where we prove all the pollsters a bit wrong and we show 'em who the cream is in this league and rise to the occasion.

Jordan out is not enough...hopefully Harrison's nagging injury isn't any better today.
Harrison and Sir Dom did not shoot well last night...but Branch got 17 pts
As they showed against Duke, they play well usually on the Garden floor.
Looks like Jordan played 7 minutes before exiting....I did not see the injury...anyone see it?

PerZagsblog:
St. John’s sophomore guard Rysheed Jordan suffered a strained patella tendon during Wednesday’s 77-74 loss at Creighton.
Jordan will be evaluated by doctors “when he gets back to campus,” Lavin said post-game, and his status for Saturday’s home game against Providence is questionable.
“Our focus turns to Providence,” Lavin wrote on Twitter.

SJU players dressed for the game will come out with a lot of effort and gritty play on Saturday I would expect.
Right now Friar focus is on this afternoon against DePaul in what could be the smallest crowd of the year or not.

zagsblog.com/st-johns/st-johns-jordan-in-hot-water-over-homophobic-tweet/St. John’s Jordan in Hot Water Over Homophobic Tweet January 30th, 2015 7:49 pm St. John’s sophomore guard Rysheed Jordan, who is listed as day-to-day with a knee injury, got himself into hot water with a homophobic Tweet and has since taken down the post and apologized. “I apologize for the language I used on Twitter in a conversation with my friends,” Jordan, who has yet to do an interview with the St. John’s media during his two years at the school, said in a statement provided by the school. “It was insensitive and something I regret because I did not mean to hurt anyone.” St. John’s says that “Inappropriate and offensive messages in any form are unacceptable in accordance with the University’s student code of conduct. Matters like this are taken seriously and addressed internally per University policy for all student conduct issues. We place a priority on educating our students to being sensitive in a diverse world.” “All of the young men representing our University and basketball program are held to high standards,” St. John’s coach Steve Lavin said in a statement. “This is an example of very poor judgment by Rysheed. We will address it within our basketball family and use this unfortunate instance as a vehicle to further educate and promote personal development. Growing up in a family that emphasized both education and tolerance shaped a perspective that I continue to use in my teaching of young people. We can all learn from this experience.” Meantime, Jordan is listed as “day-to-day” with a strained patella tendon in left knee. St. John’s (13-7, 2-5 Big East) faces Providence (16-5, 6-2) in another must-win game Saturday at Madison Square Garden. The Johnnies have lost six of eight. The story was previously reported by the Daily News. Here's what SJU fans are saying about this latest indiscretion by this dope:johnnyjungle.com/forum/index.php?topic=9240.100
