Villanova V Georgetown game the GT students seemed to be in attendance and engaged.
PC students will turn out for Nova too.
How does X beating GT affect Providence? Not seeing the significance for Providence.

How does X beating GT affect Providence? Not seeing the significance for Providence. Well G'town gets knocked back down a peg. Our win over them isn't as impressive now. League needs more than just Villanova in the top 10-15. Unfortunately in this years' BE everyone is well capable of beating everyone else and we're seeing that play out. In a perfect world this years' Depaul, Marquette, Creighton and 1 more would be dregs losing almost all their conf games so the top half can climb into and stay in the top 25. Obviously from a marketing and perception standpoint the league wants to see Marquette return to the top, and I think they will in the next couple of seasons. But for right now we need the top half to seperate from the bottom half and its not happening. We're all stuck in a clump, as predicted. Conference is too small. Makes for competitive basketball but the media, committee and casual fans see nothing but mediocrity when at the end we could have a bunch of unranked 10-8, 9-9 and 8-10 teams.

the league is turning into the A10 from last year....and it's going to impact ncaa seedings....
How does X beating GT affect Providence? Not seeing the significance for Providence....I actually don't give a crap about BE teams in the dance or how certain wins/losses "look"...as long as we're in....so a loss by X last night pushes them further down the bubble...believe their rpi was around 40...now 26....gtown will get the benefit more than X on selection sunday considering their schedule....they may as well win against the other bubble teams...

I want PC to make the tourney more than anything else obviously, but a strong Big East with lots of representation in the tourney reaps lots of benefits for PC, money, recruiting, perception, etc. What's good for the BE is good for us. That said we root for PC first and foremost.

i get no satisfaction if Xavier gets in over us and we reap all the benefits of them winning a national title as a 12 seed....I'm sure I'll be rooting for them in the final4 but i'll stick with us losing in round 1 and giving them a shot at the NIT as the preferred alternative...

There is no scenario where we don't get in that is better for us than us getting in. That goes without saying Walk.

i agree friarman. don't understand why anyone cares about the polls now. most of the people on both sites, not me, were picking the friars to lose at least three of the next four games not counting the DePaul game. play it out, one game at a time. if they are good enough, they will end up where we want them to be.

After ND beat Duke last night, PC is up to #17 in RealTime RPI. The rankings are all in the future for us this season. IF we just keep winning.

Based on projections 9-9 might be enough of a league record to get in.
