Notre Dame had a solid first half but things turned and looked bad for them with 10 min to go. Then all of a sudden within the last 5 minutes they went on a torrid 22-2 run and are about to bury the Tarheels in front of their own fans on Tobacco Road.

Notre Dame playing effectively a road game here in the ACC title against the Tarheels. Grant just picked up his 3rd foul with 4 min to go in half. Brey is irate. It ticks me off how Duke and Carolina get to play the ACC Tourney in Carolina almost every year and that there is one NCAA location in Carolina every year!!Huge advantage for them. Really want the Irish to win tonight, with all of that Blue in the stands!! By the way,ND never played in the BET title game.Think about that. Yup. I'd have to study the history but it seems the ACC programs and Kentucky had a huge head start in establishing themselves and their programs within the NCAA and its tournament structure. There are many built in advantages now.

Tarheels? I think you mean Cheaters
This is so funny...they play for years with in effect "ringers" and are glorified by the media
...but a Ledo went to the absolutely crooked ND prep for a half hour, we can't play him because he's ineligible
Yet the Cheating Carolinians have functionally illiterate kids who's exams were taken by ringers and the cheating orange completely ignore not only academic validity but also drup usage and tests...but they too are glorified because of 30,000 drunk fans in a dome that probably needs to be demolished it's so pitiful...and the guy who takes the rap is Bernie Fine
any wonder why the youth of the country are so dis-illusioned?

Well one problem with holding the tournament on what is essentially North Carolina (or Duke's) home court is when you don't win the tournament (like last night), what you've got is a funeral parlor atmosphere with 15 Notre Dame players jumping up and down in the middle of it. Very weird.
Kind of surreal....compare that to the BE Tournament and it's night and day.

Agreed dex, but in a few weeks, perhaps after the dance, they'll get their come - uppenence. I think their penalties will dwarf the Cuse. At least I hope it happens. PIZZA, SODA, GRINDERS!!!

Good stuff mikey - thought much the same in that arena with a reported 99% of fans rooting for their tar babies.
The carefully constructed ACC has been hit with the CUSE shake-out and now awaits the, (has to happen), NCAA sanctions inevitably heading to Carolina Blue. They have built their house by raids of theft and deception yet some suggest if another round of realignment takes place they could be vulnerable...this Super Conference thing is a powder keg; could cause push-back against the NCAA but it could also bring about a tsunami of torch-lit revolt by the 200+ schools who have been left out...
Meanwhile we are very, very fortunate to be in this new basketball only Big East, a league that is emergent and based on recruiting results will do very well going forward to the side of the hue and cry of those chasing the football $$$...oh sure their pie $$$ potential is much bigger but the road is rocky whilst ours is paved.

Don't look now but the UCANT Huskies are on the verge of getting into the Dance...parlaying the decided home court advantage in the AAC tourney to a finals meet up with SMU....Go Mustangs!
Wonder how the other coaches in that league feel about playing in Hartford.
As for ACC, it will be a few years before that tourney heads back to NC.

friarman - I'd guess most conf tourneys are on a members home court...
Bonc - you think Carolina could be vulnerable? no shot...they're first choice if they start shaking it up again.

I agree with Thumper on the tar heel penalties. I think since 'Cuse already took themselves out of the tourney, they got theirs first. I truly believe the NCAA is going to wait until the season is over and then clobber NC with very stiff penalties. The NCAA has to show that ALL teams are held to the same standards and there is no team that is too big or important to escape penalties or rules. You cannot have kids leaving these big programs with a 6th grade reading level and say it's an even playing field. How does a kid even get into college with a 6th grade reading level?

Just repeating what was said by others with a feel for the whole realignment situation - that it is NOT over; different now yes with the formation of the Super Conferences but again, not over...and the ACC has been mentioned as being a vulnerable conference to feel the shake up. Whatever they do to each other remains to be seen but the feeding frenzy will inevitably happen per most observers. As for Carolina, those sanctions are coming - they have to be - and who knows what effect that will have on the ACC or the relationship between the "supers' and the NCAA.

They won't skate as well as Cuse did.

Watching Kentucky choke the life out of Georgia in the SEC final. So boring. Worst thing that could happen is for Kentucky to waltz through the tourney unchallenged. Smells too much like women's hoop where UCONN destroys everyone in their path because they have the 12 best women players in the country while everyone else has mediocre talent.
I suspect Kentcuky will be challenged at least once and maybe twice during their run and I would love to see them go down.

KY will have to win 5 games against teams better than anything they have seen in the SEC. If they win it all, they deserve every bit of the attention.
