1. Thanks to Free W. for keeping the Pick-em contest going. I am sure it takes up a good amount of his time before and after each game and he keeps the picks very challenging.
2. I have not seen Tim Welch on any college games this year. Is he still doing Celtic post game?? I get a decent number of games ( 5-6) on different cable stations each night from all over but I have yet to see him do a game. I even saw Pete Gillen doing a game on either the SEC or USF network.
3. I liked the Dunham kid from Butler. Several times he just went up and shot over our guards. Only a sophmore but he already is putting up big numbers on offense albeit on a losing team. Luckily he dropped off in the second half. 4. If Harris can even limit his offensive fouls, he can stay on the court longer. I worry a kid that is prone to fouls will eventually compensate by losing some of his defensive intensity.
5. Goldy's minutes continue to drop.
6. There is still a lot of games to play, but the Harrison twins don't look like lottery picks that many assume they will be. Great bodies and the talent is there but maybe they will end up two and screw instead of one and done.

#2 Good observation......haven't seen him at all. #4 Excellent take....he does get himself into trouble with this..... #5 You mean, the minutes Bullock would have been getting? #6 I posted a poll on OT board re: NBA draft - www.friartownhoops.proboards.com/thread/3333/nba-draft

I COULD NOT AGREE MORE.THANK YOU W. 2. I have not seen Tim Welch on any college games this year. Is he still doing Celtic post game?? I THINK HE IS ON THE BIG10 NETWORK.MY SON IS A PSU GRAD AND HE TOLD ME "YOUR FORMER COACH IS DOING SOME OF OUR GAMES." 3. I liked the Dunham kid from Butler. Several times he just went up and shot over our guards. Only a sophmore but he already is putting up big numbers on offense albeit on a losing team. Luckily he dropped off in the second half. IMPRESSIVE INDEED. 4. If Harris can even limit his offensive fouls, he can stay on the court longer. I worry a kid that is prone to fouls will eventually compensate by losing some of his defensive intensity. THE OFFENSIVE FOULS ARE THE ISSUE. 5. Goldy's minutes continue to drop. CORRECT. 6. There is still a lot of games to play, but the Harrison twins don't look like lottery picks that many assume they will be. Great bodies and the talent is there but maybe they will end up two and screw instead of one and done. THERE ARE MANY "SURE FIRE ONE AND DONES" WHO WON'T BE THE LOTTERY PICKS THEY HAD EXPECTED TO BE AND WILL EITHER STAY IN SCHOOL LONGER OR [WORST CASE] FADE INTO NBA OBLIVION.

Ironically, Tim was doing commentary of one of the ESPNs prior to Lousiville's game last night at around 630 I assumed he was doing ame later because he was courtside being interviewed from studio....

Speaking of broadcasters, is Ron Perry doing any games this year now that he's apparently not doing new Big East games?

I sense that Goldy's minutes are situational, based upon the match-ups. We didn't need another big to control the paint vs. Butler, shifting focus on the need (for Ted) to contain their perimeter scorers in the second half. There will be games where Ed needs to neutralize the front court strengths of the opponent, where I'd bet Goldy will be inserted, in order to pick up a share of the minutes, dirty work and fouls

EXactly, Goldy plays in spots and has been quite effective in his limited but sometimes important role. He surprised me a few times, I think most recently against SJU he had some key plays near the end.

Speaking of broadcasters, is Ron Perry doing any games this year now that he's apparently not doing new Big East games? You're right, haven't seen Perry all season on anything. He always good for about 5-8 Friar games a year. He must be under contract somewhere, because you think FOX would swoop him up - compared with some of the color guys (or girls) I've heard on FOX games this year. Always liked him doing games.

Ron Perry is one of the worst color guys I've ever heard. He's never said a single thing that a high school basketball cheerleader couldn't have surmised while watching a game. His voice is, however, distinctive to our collective BE memory and he was a phenomenal player so maybe that explains his escape of genuine criticism. I miss him like I miss Don Crique doing Patriots games. Well, not that much.................

I definitely remember seeing TW doing some games on ESPN earlier in the season and I know for sure he did one of the games during the tip off marathon. He also still works for CSNNE for Celtics postgame and one of their other shows. He still lives in EG.

FWIW--I heard Doris say during Cuse/Pitt that she thinks Bilas is best color man doing college games and Van Gundy best doing NBA. I could not stand the constant banter between-Raff--McDonough and Bilas before they were finally broken up. In fact,I prefer one color man rather than two. But that is me. Here in SEC country, I see a lot of Nessler/Dykes and I think they are very good. They stay focused on the game and do not promote themselves.

Although it seems as if Tyler gets called for an offensive foul at least once a game, I think it can be corrected. The game needs to slow down a tad for him in his mind so that he takes the extra second to assess the situation before he starts his drive. With his limited playing time at NC State, he is really a freshman as far as experience goes, and with time his game is going to get better and better.

Grey you are correct. I like his overall game. If he can slow things down in his head, he will take his game up a notch. If we start to load our roster up with kids of the talent level of Harris, we will start going places. I am very happy to have him on this years team. Next year when Batts and Cotton are gone, I will be even more happy to have him as I believe he and Henton will be options 1 and 1A.

I'd have to guess that Harris will improve quite a bit once he has a true PG and multiple ball-handlers on the floor with him. Right now he's got a converted 2-guard and really nobody else filling that role.....hopefully he has a couple handlers next year. I'm not holding my breath on that score however.
