1. I will be there on Sunday evening.
2.I must admit---I do not expect our Friars to do well against this Wildcat club.Their 3/4 court press will cause PC all kinds of problems.I envision a turnover fest. The Wildcats are loaded with 6'3" to 6'7" guys who can run, play tough defense and can throw it up from trifecta land.Due to our lack of guys who can handle the ball---this is the type of team against which the Friars matchup the worst.Hope I am wrong.Forget what happened last year---when we had Dunn and Council on board.
3. Vincent Council. This all time assist leader had more of a positive impact on last year's team than most Friar fans are acknowledging.Wish we had him now.
4. 2013-2014 was the season that was supposed to have Ed Cooley succeed on the court .Unfortunately lady luck was not there this year for him.Having Austin and Dunn out there would have a dramatic impact on the team.But--cannot cry over spilt milk.
5. Unfortunately, 2014-2015 will not be much [if any] better. Yes, we will [hopefully] have Lindsey, PC, and Bentil on board.Hopefully, Dunn will be fully healthy. Labamba will hopefully be a contributor.Bullock will probably be on the team.Austin is a huge question mark today.Cotton will be a HUGE loss.He can takeover a game.But---he has had too heavy a burden to carry this year..But---who is going to handle the rock, take the crunch time shots, etc . when he is gone? There will be "on paper" talent on the roster [barring any more negative surprises], but it will be inexperienced and still lacking in shooters and ballhandlers IMHO. Especially if Austin ain't on the team---the staff will need to bring in two more guys who can help handle the ball.
6. Tomorrow could tell us a lot about Brandon Austin and his Friar future. If he is sitting near the bench---I will be smiling ear-to-ear.If he is not---it may not be over---but it cannot be a good sign for sure.
7. It ticks me off to read about Duke Mondy being able to play after all he has "allegedly" done, especially in light of what PC has experienced this year.
8.Won't get to watch it live---but plan to DVR our highly rated Friars in Frozen Fenway today.Hopefully, they will continue the great success they have been experiencing.
9. I look at how poorly BC is doing .PC is doing much better than the Eagles.Nevertheless---I am not today feeling good about hoops in Friartown.
10. As Rock had posted a few days ago---many of us sink a lot money, time, emotion, travel and/or mental anguish into Friar hoops .Some of us have for 1/2 a century.PC last won an NCAA game in 1997!!The Friars last played in one in 2004. It is not easy trying to feel good about this team this team right now.Recruiting is important and nice.But--we are at the point where games need to be won to truly turn things around. Not sure when that will be happening.
