1.nice that our guys played much better than most of its fans expected.I am not happy, however.I wanted they win.
2. Glad that Walk was wrong about PC being " worked." Even though the Friars took the Minutemen to overtime and did not get clobbered as Walk predicted,I note he is still posting negatively about the game. They surpassed your stated expectations Walk.
3.tough to lose at the FT line and on two put backs.
4. Fortune and Batts provided little.
5.Would like more PT for CD.
6.This was the top two RPI team in the land,on its home court in front of its first sellout in many years.
7.Cooley and staff out coached Mr. Kellogg.Played the right tempo.
8.if PC plays like this we will be watching a top echelon BE team.

8.if PC plays like this we will be watching a top echelon BE team.....you're kidding I hope...they certainly played hard but if you think they played well, you're dumber than I thought...
You want to take a ride down memory lane for expectations 71?...I've been giving you a pass...just let me know.
Shot 39%....15% from 3... Missed key FTs in OT...out rebounded by 9... And we played well....you can't make it up...
I'd rather have cd in...offense and defense right now...

probably win this game by 6-7 with Austin tonight...don't know how anyone can make that assumption....
The BE could be terrible and we could crack the top 1/2.... Gonna need to play a lot better to get there....

Maybe Austin would've turned the ball over 5 times and shot 2-10 from the floor. maybe bullock would've dropped 16/7. who cares.....
we battled hard and a missed box-out with a few untimely misses from the stripe kept us from a win. we took a top 25 team to the wire in OT in their house...and they escaped with one. not luck...not bounces...not depth. the guys on the floor need to hold the accountability.
and FWIW, I think Carson should've been in there at the end. he did some excellent rim defending, and I think he's our tough guy despite batts bulking up. im proud the nation saw us play like that. Im ripped apart that we lost...but we will win games. BE has plenty of room to steal a whole bunch of games.

1. Game was closer than I expected. Providence had a game plan and worked it. Can't fault that.
That's putting it mildly.
Fortune attempted 2 shots in 27 minutes. Would anybody be really upset if Cooley gave Teddy 5 of those minutes? Maybe he shakes things up...adds some energy.... forces a turnover...whatever. He's a role player, put him in and let him fill a role.
Batts 4-14 in 38 minutes. CD only get 18 in a 45 minute game..... a game where Batts is clearly hurting the team by not being able to do anything offensively....and looking tired while doing it.
The roster is what it is....just playing 5 guys huge minutes is only going to cause the team to lose games down the stretch in the BE and may have cost them the game tonight....who knows.
This team needs more of an Identity both on Offense and Defense. That kind of went out the window when Dunn got hurt.
This coaching staff will have to work hard to wring out the best of this depleted roster.
The BE Season starts now.

Walk, admit it.PC did not get worked tonight.
Who in the BE has been playing better than UMASS so far this season? PC had a great gameplan and executed it well.unlike many, this team did not quit. That bodes well.
Unfortunately, the offense was just not there, free throws were uncharacteristically missed ,rebounding was an issue and PC still almost won.
Walk, your faulty memory about the past does not impress.Heck, you are unwilling or unable to recall what you were saying going into today's game.
I loved tonight's effort.I hated that PC lost.

they did not get worked...I'm surprised...they played hard..very hard...
You think they played well...too dumb for words....
Nova for one...you should know that...
Do you think the jones ( yale) out coached Cooley?

Nice to see that admission Walk.
I did not say that PC played well.I said they played better than most expected ( you for one).however, you must admit that PC did execute very well a defensive plan and tempo that had the usually high powered Minutemen offense struggling. You did see what they shot for the game,I assume.Walk,of all people.Thought you loved defense. If so, you should have loved what PC did to them at that end of the floor.
I let you have the obvious/easy one with Nova. Arguably,UMass has been as good or better, depending upon what matrix you wish to look at.If PC plays like they did today,it will be top 1/2 of the BE.They played with effort.Did not give up.They had a plan and executed it.
What makes you think that Jones out coached Mr. Cooley?I saw it as one of his players having a great game.
Sleep tight Mr.Walk.

you wish to look at.If PC plays like they did today,it will be top 1/2 of the BE....let me get this straight....they didn't play we'll tonight BUT if they play like they did today, they finish in the top 1/2 of a top 5 conference.....you make a ton of sense.
For the record...they didn't play better than I expected...they did play closer ( a lot) than I expected....
Jones kept making sure his guy got looks....Cooley didn't adjust....out coached.

But I would say then Cooley outcoached kellogg last night. In each case the opponent still won.

PC holds UMass to 39% from the field - they entered shooting 47% on the season - and PC holds them to a respectable 31% from the 3-pt line...PC blocked 11 shots - 9 between Batts and CD - while also maintaing fewer turnovers and personal fouls (I like the way the refs seemed to let the game move along)
HOWEVER - UMass' bench outscores PC's Bench 23-0...PC is out-rebounded 45-36. That is where the game was lost. You cannot pick up defensive rebounds. Second-chance points ended our night.
Kadeem...I do not know where he goes when these big-time games come. I understand that he has stepped up from time to time but it always seems like when it's a Syracuse or a Uconn or some other ranked team he just seems to fade into the background and is an average PF.
Cotton needs to find a way off the ball in the half-court offense. I understand PC has no options but get the ball in Harris' hands at the top of the key. Let him run the point on a few sets to let Cotton be the 2 for a little bit. Fortune cannot handle the ball - he telegraphs passes and on at least 3 occasions this season he was standing in between the circles looking to go to a teammate coming off of a high screen and he waited and waited and waited...by the time the teammate got their the defender taken out on the screen got through and stole the pass.
The only tough thing about saying Austin would have had a true impact in this game is that he has not played yet. Rust and all of that would have been expected. But I am comfortable saying that we most definitely win this game if Austin is in this game. He knows how to play. The kid wakes up he score 15 points before getting both legs out of bed.
Can PC make a run in the Big East? Yes. There will be a ton of these high 50's, low 60's games with the likes of Georgetown, Xavier, etc. It's about the inside game and getting the 3-pt shot to drop. I like Nova more than anyone when that is the formula. But I think PC can win a good amount of games. Take them one at a time, beat Seton Hall and go from there. No other way to do it.

Our big me cannot jump. We will continue to have trouble with teams that have athletic front lines, Right now we have no bigs who are capable of playing above the rim.
