Can we move on from her? Have some damn backbone! "not the way the cookie crumbled"? That's what a parent would say to a five year old. “I think the teams that are left are finding a way to send a bit of a message here: That the Big East is one of the elite basketball conferences in the country and we play at the highest level,” Big East commissioner Val Ackerman said, offering her first public remarks since the snubs of Seton Hall, St. John’s and Providence. “We’ve been in four Final Fours since 2016, we’ve got the overall No. 1 seed, we have a two-seed in Marquette and a three-seed in Creighton, and that says a lot about the strength of our league. Would it have been better to get a few more teams in? Yes, absolutely, but that’s not the way the cookie crumbled this year. There’s nothing we can do about it now." "Ackerman declined to criticize the committee, saying several times the Big East respects the process it undergoes. She was told that an abnormal amount of bid-stealers impacted the league’s bubble teams." “Are we working behind the scenes to try to understand it better, to make our concerns known? Yes, that is happening. That will continue to happen in the coming months,” she said. “And that’s how we’re going to attack this. I don’t think standing on this table right here and screaming at the top of my lungs is going to get us more teams in the tournament this year. “It might get me on the back page of the New York Post and they might write nicer things about the Big East and I wouldn’t have the emails that I’ve gotten in the last week from disgruntled Seton Hall fans and Providence fans and St. John’s fans. But that’s the job. I don’t want to make predictions here that don’t pan out, but I feel very confident you’re going to have more than three Big East teams in the NCAA Tournament next year.” nypost.com/2024/03/25/sports/big-east-teams-sending-march-madness-message-after-snubs/

Yankee, am I interpreting this correctly? A reporter from the NY Post is whining about the numerous emails received from Seton Hall fans? Poor baby!

Only Seton Hall is showing they belonged in the NCAA Tounnament. StJohn’s declined, Villanova and Providence lost in the NIT with the teams they put on the floor.
As far as our Friars are concerned we all know the reasons : OCC, record with a few close losses, and an injured pre season First Team All Big East selection.
The staff and team have moved on toward next season as evidenced by those transferring out making way for other players.
Val complaining won’t right a wrong.

Hi, never agreed with my take or Val not “screaming “.? My take is that Seton Hall deserved a bid. St John’s, Villanova, and Providence all fell short of the mark for inclusion in the field of 68. ….
Anecdotally, a Villanova - Providence fan who is primarily a Villanova fan discussed with me day how both teams disappointed in their NIT showings after their NCAA Tournament snub. “He-she-it contended that Kyle was out coached. Not at all happy with Kyle’s performance. He-she-it acknowledged Providence’s injuries in fielding a team for the NIT game. … It appears the Providence program has moved beyond the season’s disappointing ending and is actively restructuring the team through the portal.

Seton Hall got screwed because of the NET. They had 13 wins and finished 4th in BE but were behind Villanova, St.Johns and Providence in the NET. In fact I think they were behind X and Butler too. Lol how does that happen? For one, they lost to USC early when USC was 23 in the country, a Q1 loss, but USC ended up 15-18, so was a Q3 loss by seasons end. That’s ridiculous to get punished that way. But, that’s how the NET works.
