Hope we are using the term “merger” loosely. Boston College, Cal, SMU, Stanford, Georgia Tech can take a hike. Duke and Cuse would be obvious adds. The appealing football schools will go to B10 and SEC. And I’d be open to one or two of the rest (Pitt, Notre Dame, NCST, Va tech, and whoever else I missed)

BTW, one voice out there pushing this is Seth Greenberg.

Adding any football school is a mistake. I don't count UConn as a football school because they are one in name only. Some day they will realize they should be playing in FCS with Holy Cross and the Ivies.

I could put this in its own thread but likely related to the ACC BE chatter. Major ruling against any NCAA enforcement of NIL rules at all. Boosters, pay for for play it's all OK. theathletic.com/5295907/2024/02/23/tennessee-ncaa-nil-lawsuit-injunction/sports.yahoo.com/sec-big-ten-coalition-lays-plain-whos-in-charge-of-college-sports-moving-forward-225414252.htmlIt's mind numbing to me that people think the NCAA mismanagement over the years is so bad, and the players are so put upon with their full scholariships, chartered flights, top level training and facilities, all the free athletic gear you can imagine and now 6 figure NIl deals that it's still a 'crisis' in need of a complete makeover. A makeover that would cede control to the bloodthirsty thieves running the SEC and Big 10 football monopolies is going to turn out well? They're going to form their own league and block out anyone not in their inner circle of big football schools. Just like they did with football already but on a global level. We'll be on the outside looking in with our fellow BE basketball schools.
