Our margin for error is eroding. St. John’s and DePaul are absolutely must wins. 17-9 heading to Xavier. Anything less, and I think we’re done.

Hanging around by a thread… two wins next week probably get us firmly back on the bubble prior to X
Next 4 out as of 7pm tonight

so the next 3 are obvious musts and i'm not sure 3-0 puts us in the field at that point since depaul is meaningless. We need to beat 5 nontournament teams to become a tournament team. that's not impossible.

I think the formula is simple. Go 5-2 rest of the way...... Forget DePaul in terms of the quality or not there. It's simply a must W to avoid the bad loss. We need Ws at this point.
We need to get to 11-9 BE which includes the sweep of DePaul and @gtown..... that means we need to win 3 of our 4 home games likely loss - UCONN and get 2 on the road , @ gtown and 1 of @x or @mq.....or beat Uconn at home. Any combo of 5 Ws that includes DePaul and Georgetown.
They are not keeping an 11-9 BE team with no bad losses out of the tourney. The metrics will dictate it.
4-3 (10-10) and I think we're firmly on the bubble but I suspect we'd end up NIT.
Yesterday was a massive gut punch to our prospects imo.

I can also imagine a scenario where we enter the final game hosting UCONN and we're sitting at 19-11 and 10-9 BE...I practically pictured it when the schedule was released.

A friend showed me this team cast tool on T rank. I’ve only used it for a couple days so I don’t know if it’s a good projection, but seems like the best option out there 11-9 we just barely make it in (a little safer with a win vs UConn and loss vs Xavier than the opposite 12-8 we are safely in Now we really have to be rooting against the other bubble teams barttorvik.com/teamcast.php

Given the inj's and current circumstances there's no reason to be optimistic. Right now I feel ten/BE, is too hard a get. Can they get anything done on the road at X? Will they look better against Villanova at home? At present all they need to worry about is SJ. That's it.
* I've never seen GMU Fernandez play. But if he had survived the off-season after xf, I have a feeling he would have helped to add a game to the total.

Nova stubbornly still hanging around. Blew out a smoke and mirrors Seton Hall today at home. Was hoping they would slide out of contention, rumblings would increase with Neptune and they'd be a corpse coming into Prov but no.
We really do need to embrace the 1 game at a time cliche now. Just beat St John's Tues.
From there on out, if we drop anything at home prior to UCONN say goodbye to an at large.
I guess there's always the hope of BET but we'd have to find a way to avoid the dreaded wed game.

I think the most the BE gets is 6 bids
In most Bracketolgies they are likely out
The NET has never been below 40 and it’s been in the 50’s most of the year The road record is horrible , I mean .500 would help
I think either SJU , Nova or Butler could be looking outside as well

Our backdoor path if we dont get 5 wins:
1)Stay healthy, avoid the 8-11 seed and the wed play in game.
2)Get hot and lucky at the BET and force our way in. I mean any given day any team can knock off another in this conf. It's possible.
Edit: just realized there's 3 Wed games and if we end up 10-10 we probably have to play wed. Damn.

Noticed tonight when they showed the friars profile for the tournament, they had Q3 loss and I couldn’t think who it was. Turns out it’s the loss at home to Seton Hall(15-9,8-5)who has fallen to 76 in NET rankings. Villanova(13-11,6-7) who is 2 games behind SH in the BE standings is at 41 in the NET rankings. Lol.
