And kudos to the women's soccer team for starting the season at 5-0 with all shutouts. Hope this continues thru the BE season.

live.lancertiming.com/meets/131/events/91Baby it's hot outside (2 Irish W dropped out, plus one guy). Top 2/3 runners held out. So it doesn't make much sense to run Reese Fahys twice in a week on the same course (which they reduced 2k for heat concerns.) This turned out more of a dual meet, with uconn. NZ' K. May won (who is not really a dis. runner). By the by this was maybe the worst recruiting year the men's team ever had. First real test will be in Charlottesville in a few weeks. I don't think they have enough to beat Gtn/W in the BE. But will likely find out at UVa where I think Gtn are also running.

There's a few things they aren't talking about. The Girls could have won this District meet at VCP/Bronx (they needed another top 10 finish). But two runners didn't line up. Eastman the xf from Mason only ran one race this season. Buckley the '22 BE champ, none. Now she could be ill or inj but I've seen her on campus 2 times in the last month (appearing ok). The thing to look for is will she turn up in Brussels (Euro CCC) in 3 weeks to run for Ireland?
Both teams had poor seasons (though May has progressed v. well). I was shocked they got an at large. And surprised Fr. Reese Fahys ran every race this season while none of the other Fr. m/f ran any? She was coming off a stress fracture.

Dana Ostrander was a pretty good runner here. Sending her daughter was surprising(for a few reasons). She has options. If my memory serves she is the first NY State champ (CC) to ever commit (there may have been another but mysterious she never run for the Friars though graduated, bad Manlius luck).
I don't think she can be a great talent (stride, turnover, power to weight/ratio) but you don't win Div.1 in NY without being tough it's just too big a sport there. They start developing girls in 6-8 grades. Emily was not rated #1 all year (a jr.was). She beat the girl head to head at weekend. They had an inside track Emily who will give them some cred in NY once again with her notoriety.

It's been awhile since the men have challenged for top of the Big East let alone NCAA
Women since that 2nd NCAA Championship in 2015 they haven't capitalized much even for Big East titles, couple of second place finishes and not even close in NCAAs.
