are you saying minutes weren't earned last year? While I know your question wasn't aimed at me, I will chime in. There were games where Maliek performed well, but as an overall evaluation, I don't think he was a BE starting point guard. He is more a 2 guard. But with Duke and Reeves going, he was the odd man out for th he Pan Am. PIZZA, SODA, GRINDERS!!! Well said Stripes as far as Maliek is concerned as a PG. I never wavered in my opinion that he was no PG but Walk went wobbly and had him in his 6 designated PG starters . However Thumperella you missed the point completely on whether Maliek deserved to be on the team. The point was why Pipkins was on the team having never played a BE game. Please re-read my posts in this thread and if you are compelled to belabor the point, wait till after coffee tomorrow morning. And BTW, sure Maliek is not a PG but he has stuck it out for hopefully 4 years as a reserve and that should be respected. Not to the point of putting him on the PanAm team but respected by the stunardo's here. ps as a Friar fanatic I am happy Pipkins is on the team to work with our other players.

I believe white still ended with the best asst/to ratio of the three. But thump - since you decided to answer a question that wasn't directed at you - do you think David dukes play earned 30 stars?
And i said early on that white isn't a point - doesn't mean he was our best option at that position last year (at least at times). David Duke was never our best pg.

Oh annointed one, reluctantly I re-read every one of your "posts" and still do not get your waffling slant on the subject. Do you not believe a Pan-Am position was one of the bargaining chips to bring Pipkens aboard? To borrow from AI we're talking point guard, we're talking point guard, point guard, we're talking point guard. Everything happens for a reason! PIZZA, SODA, GRINDERS!!!

Oh wonderous one, no I do not think David Duke's play deserved 30 stars (whatever that star system means) yet his potential is there as a 2-guard and back-up point. I didn't say White wasn't one of our "to coin dex' phrase ... 6 point guards". All I said he was is better suited as a 2-guard. PIZZA, SODA, GRINDERS!!!

So there is no guarantee all 5 of them make the final 12 member roster according to Rooke's blurb.

Pipkins came to PC to play on the Panam team? Do you believe that? What if Marcus Howard, Baldwin, any of the gtown frosh wanted in?
30 starts. Did his play warrant 30 starts?

In the name of patriotism, would the NCAA agree that the PanAm Team should be able to play against another group of players - who just happen to be on campus? Allow the Brown Coach (Assistant for the PanAm Team) to coach said "other group of players".

On this note, I believe that Ed Cooley believes that David Duke could be our primary ballhandler. I believe that he can handle the role.

What's this? Is the Pam-Am team training against this group? Looks like this team just played in Greece. Looks like it is coached by Boeheim's assistants. Has several ACC kids.

Didn't listen to the podcast but read elsewhere pipkins is hurt and no reeves on the team.... Pipkins has a sore knee but is practicing. Reeves is tentatively an alternate (with McDermott and Malinowski) but the roster hasn't been finalized and can change after these practices.
