If we have Cooley in a 'contract for life' aka long term, how does Cooley get out of it and take another job? I'm asking in seriousness, does he simply resign or is there more to it? I mean if we fire him we're expected to pay, what about the other way around? Most contracts have a buy out I believe (i.e. Cooley or the hiring school would owe PC x amount of dollars if he breaks his contract). I don't really understand the contract for life thing and my guess was that it was more a public show of support from Driscoll but not an actual contract. I'd guess he still has a contract for x amount of years. Anyone know?

It's possible that the contract has a rolling extension built in that keeps going and going and going. It's also possible that was just how they sold it because Cooley does want to stay at PC long-term and it was a cute PR move.

Hey, one month ago we beat a team that is in the elite 8 and another that is one game away from the Elite 8. Just need a couple of things to break right. This year we may have been a sweet 16 team if Bentil stayed. Everyone knows about the previous years. (Led, Austin, Chukwu etc...). One of these years he is going to have the team that he has planned for. Next year may be that year. Not saying he will never leave but he is a smart guy and knows what he has here. And last year we beat the national champions on the road. We're competitive no doubt, just a few more steps away from the next level. The hard part is we had Kris Dunn and have not had a recruit at the level since, and even with he and Bentil we only won 1 game in the tourney. Missed opportunity there, and the year prior with the 5 seed or whatever it was. Keep scratching. I don't see any reason we cannot do what Butler and X are doing this year, specifically Butler going after a 4 or 5 seed and then getting it done in the tourney.

As Walk said, and he's spot on, we beat Xavier but not THIS Xavier.
As a member of the Program told me today, hey we won 20 games and might have one or two more without a Go-To guy or two that you hand the ball to at crunch time and say go win it. And with Ben it could have been 3 or 4 games better.
Let's get some big time talent in here asap

They won while papering over a disastrous Sophomore recruiting class...

Correct King Conn...I mean it's like some of us have forgotten everything we know about basketball.
I said it before and I will say it again...it's an accident of history that a Marquette and PC were admitted to the Dance this year.
...and TWO Big East player selections is hilarious
now damnit let's go get some tough sons of snitches that can run, jump, shoot and rebound with the best of them for 2018

I think Holt committed while Ben was still testing waters? Could be wrong.

Yes dribble dribble and may I also add Pass Pass Pass
at least with Ben he demands the ball in the clutch and relishes marching to the line 3 straight times to ice a game
he wasn't perfect yet but damn the guy had ice water in his veins just like Cotton

"Keep in mind Bentil means no Holt"...
Emmitt committed over a month before Bentil made a decision to stay in the draft.

you think holt is coming to PC to play behind bentil?...Bentil basically ran his official announcement to the deadline...zero chance holt comes to pc if he thought bentil was on the roster.

Dribble dex....dribble ...tell my kids just dribble 10 min a day...5 with each hand....we have zero dribblers,... ... Amen, I have always taught my kids that learning to dribble is more important that learning to shoot. If you dribble well enough you can get to spots on the floor where anyone can make a shot. You can also work on dribbling almost anywhere, not so with shooting.

I don't think that is true. We could have played Holt/Bullock/Bentil together.
Kalif is the one might not be here with Bentil.

Holt/Bullock/Bentil together...sure..Holt has a second chance to play major college hoops and is going to roll the dice to join a team that has the returning leading scorer in the BE who plays the exact same position and is in the same class...what could have been.
