PC wanted to provide $3,000. However the NCAA requires that the full cost number used for the stipend be the same number used for general financial aid.
That is where the $1,800 came from. The formula for full cost includes 2 trips home etc. so that is where some of the differences come in. Changing the general full cost number would result in a lower published % of need PC provides to general students.
That said, with some of the large stipend differences this should be corrected for next year.
Hockey recruiting against ND is something like $1,800 vs 6 or 8 k.

I truly hope it is corrected.$3000 is a nice number and what I had expected prior to the $1,800 number coming out. Truly appreciate the explanation Boston. Thank you.

I thought the article said that Notre Dame was relatively low as well?

Might have gotten some bad info on ND. I looked it up and ND lists $1,950.

Based on my math it seems that Providence could have maxed out at $2,630/student for 2015-16 based on the cost of attendance numbers posted on their website.
