huge difference between fans not being happy and suing the school.... Wasn't talking about fans. I was talking about female students.

..what difference does public or private make?....
If Hutch was private the Pres can do anything he/she wants. Assuming it's public they could have got a call from the Governor's office saying their general counsel says it's a stupid move so you aren't doing this. The statement by Laura Fine (Austin Lawyer) was not nice. Among other things she calls the Oregon girl a lier.
So the PC female has rung up a lot of billable hours on this. If she is hissed off after her GJ testimony she still has one alternative.
* Maybe the same grand jury will hear evidence against the Brown Fb players. We shall see if the AG gets an indictment this time?

i can't say for sure but i'm guessing PC receives some govt funds and would have very similar rules to the public universities....SO the "do whatever you want" doesn't apply...

The only two schools that I know of that don't accept any federal funding are Grove City and Hillsdale. Both are conservative schools.

Understand what 82 is saying but have to agree given all that happened at UO, think it best for us that Austin is gone. Personally do not know details regarding Cooley and what went down when he supported their return. Yet sticking by his recruits has worked (so far)for Bullock. And again. Bullock has stayed the course, kept a low profile and deserves that second chance. He served out his suspension so respect is due for that - right?
Sure seemed like Brandon Austin bolted and accepted an easy out heading out to Dana Altman's program aka, 'transfer U'. Once there you you think he knew he had dodged a bullet but nooooooo - he not only acted (at least)irresponsibly once again - his reckless behavior also dragged PC through the dirt with him.
Sobering reality has set in for Austin and his 'advisers' now that Hutchinson has declined to offer. Sure, he has not faced legal action but he has been first suspended then dismissed from two D1 programs so now that privileged road he was on is a rocky road.
So much for one and done... More like done and done.

..let me put it this way....did the Oregon police report read rape?... Not in my opinion .....and if the pc report was comparable AND Cooley went to bat for second semester eligibility, I'm disappointed....big time...
Cooley made a " kids being kids" type comment....sorry but the Oregon report did not read kids being kids....

What was then bonco?.... You don't recall the comment? Hey, thewalk, take the high road and try to discuss things intelligently ... if you can. Your propensity to sink to name-calling speaks to a person who is not confident about himself. Perhaps you should seek professional help. PIZZA, SODA, GRINDERS!!!

Look walk, none of us really know what fully happened with the Austin/Bullock situation at PC; we know much more about Austin and UO. Cooley’s statements have to be taken in the context of the initial incident not in the shadow of what Austin went on to do at UO. I am not in any way defending Austin – he is a creep IMO - nor am I ‘sugar coating’ what Cooley said at that time. I think the statements by Altman and company were far more duplicitous than what Cooley was attempting early on after the PC incident and long before Austin’s bolting…
You want to hold onto to what you perceive then fine – I simply see it as a contextual situation colored by subsequent events. Think also that Cooley’s response post-UO mess was appropriate – do you?

I have no problem with any of cooleys comments post Oregon...though not sure what specific comments you're referring to....very disappointed that Cooley went to bat for this punk last December...especially when one higher up had given him the boot...
