The last time I ate at Sparks was 1987. I recall first class service and steak and $400+ lunch tab for four.

Excellent dinner at Sparks. Followed up dinner with the Knicks/Clippers game. Will never go to another NBA game. No flow and boring, plus the Knicks blow...

Just watch out for men loitering around the entrance in trenchcoats and Russian hats.
I went there once for a bachelor party about 5 or 6 years ago, it was in a private room downstairs (where I imagine some pretty interesting meetings occured in the past). So I only walked through the dining room for a second and paid little attention. The place was packed.
I had a filet mignon cooked medium, it was butterflied due to its enormity. I found it to be too salty and have had better. I believe the price was $100 or so for the steak according to the menu. We had an open bar before hand and then lots of bottles of wine, needless to say it was an interesting welcome to the NY bachelor party experience for my wallet. Overall I should go back just to see the restaurant part and maybe try a different cut.
