Yeah.....we feel about as entitled as a man dying of thrist feels entitled to a glass of water.
Friars fans are the most insanely patient fans I have ever known and they deserve some damn success after going 16 years without an NCAA win.

I can't speak for other fans, just me and my posse.
It's been a love affair for over half a century for us...and a few times it bent but never broke.
Some call us delusional but it's not delusional when you actually lived the dream from 1959 to 1979...and some very nice highs afterwards, albeit not nearly enough.
We just want to re-capture that dream, at least one more time for us, but also for the younger fans who have never experienced a Friar magic carpet ride. Hey, if it doesn't happen so be it, but at least we seasoned fans have our TWO National Championships in '61 and '63 as memories that will never ever be forgotten by this Friar.
In Cooley, we may have our last best chance to take that magic carpet ride.

In Cooley, we may have our last best chance to take that magic carpet ride. Agree with that. The best I've seen was the BET Championship in '94 and the Elite 8 run in '97. Would love another deep NCAA run and I agree that Cooley gives us our best shot. I guess my point was, we have a shot to do that with our without Abu as long as Cooley keeps bringing in Top 100 kids. No reason for a meltdown if we "only" get two Top 100 recruits this year. And I agree, PC fans are insanely patient. It's nuts to see the dedication we have after the past 10 years.

and a great point it is Draif
I recently posted that if we could get two top 100 kids per year with solid role players around them, we would contend and dance most years.

Well said everyone. We just want to be a steady and very good team year after year and we have the coach to do it. Nothing wrong with that. We have been down for a long time. If we had never experienced a good BB team than we wouldn't have the active boards. We have a gread rabid fan base and those that will follow and pack the Dunk when this team is winning.

I've reached the point where following the Friars is one of the few remaining roller coaster rides left that I really enjoy. Incredible ups and downs over the years. Methinks the ride is starting to climb again!!
