How many above average BE players are on that roster? Sorry to be the dark cloud but it seems we're eons away from the '13/'14 and '21/'22 Friar rosters. (BTW, I appreciate 93's posting of this, helps a ton.) It’s going to come down to who we get for this last spot (Freeman?) and if Joseph can do things he didn’t really show at Miami like Durham did for us I think Hopkins return is really important. If he is the same or better w 16 PT and 8 Rebounds like the previous years, the team will have a leader to build around.

English and the staff seem to be really high on this kid. ....gotta love friartown...

JAR Cardet Bensley Hopkins Essandoko
That sound right?

It's all about Kim and staff now molding them into a team and the players forming a bond towards team goals.

We shall see. Go Friars! I like what I saw from Coach English ability to make changes on the fly according to players being hurt, whether it was a 1 game absence or season ending injury. He was able to integrate new players into roles they weren’t quite used to being in and still had us on the bubble and within a game or 2 of dancing. Pretty damn good for basically a rookie coach going up against the coaching giants in this league. On paper this roster is a step up and provides more depth that what we had last year, even if Hop didn’t get hurt last year.

can positions 3-10 on the roster overcome the loss of our top 2 from last year is the obvious question. we shouldn't have to play 2 on 5 anymore.

It seems to me that we are not UConn...they can and will plug in top quality replacements for those players lost to graduation and/or the NBA draft. But, UConn also wasn't UConn during Hurley's early years in Storrs. For the first few years of his tenure, he did his best to recruit the best possible pieces and hope they both fit and could be "coached up" by the UConn staff.
The loss of Carter and Oduro hurts for sure and I wasn't expecting the staff to "replace" them. Rather, I hoped that the staff would recruit/acquire quality pieces, add reliable depth, and then get to work on the new squad.
We are where we are right now and I am thrilled with how next year's roster looks at this point...
