1) that Nikè gave GTOWN 2.5 mil in NIL if they sign Cooley and 2) that Pitino wanted to come to PC (after hearing Ed officially left) but Fr. Sicard nixed it.

This is why Pitino went St John's along with Fr Shanley....no ifs, ands or butts. We need a billionaire or two embracing our program someday.

Some like to criticize this guy but I know first hand that he's the real deal person and businessman. Everyone needs a rabbi once in awhile and the Johnnies have their's.

The posts on the other board about Ed's supposed personal issues are shocking to me...if true, the man should have taken a year off and worked on his mental and physical health.

Now, it seems to me that there has been a fair amount of covering for Ed by some folks in Providence...with his actions of the last month and his move to a conference competitor, perhaps somebody has decided to air Ed's dirty laundry for him. So, either Ed burned a bridge or someone back home is burning it for him. Maybe Ed should ask the Jesuits in DC for help in covering up scandals.
