Georgetown jobbed with under a minute with H up 1 a touch foil sending H to the free throw line and going up by 3. Georgetown (MCClung)3 attempt short, another desperation attempt short. Best thing about the game was played on campus. Only 3 games in last five years played in the campus gym. Enthusiastic student crowd in contrast to last night’s empty DDC.

Johnnies sent packing, 65-74 Butler falls to Nebraska, 76-80
Believe that puts the Conference at 1-4 in Post Season play.
It's becoming increasingly clear that the BE is in rebuilding mode following the exodus of so much talent last summer. The notion that there was "balance" in the middle of the BE pack can be qualified... there was balanced mediocrity.
So the planets lined up in rebuild mode at the same time. I fully expect a few of the programs to take a step forward in the next year. PC has to keep pace with the likes of Georgetown and it begins with recruiting, player development, and fixing whatever leadership/chemistry voids there might be up and down the roster.
Seven months until the ball is tossed up again. Already anxious to see what happens over the coming weeks (morphing of our roster), and what the staff can make of it between now and November.

with zero facts to back it up, my sense is the new BE has underperformed (obviously excluding Nova) when it comes to postseason tourneys and over performed in the pre Jan 1 tourneys.

The BE has only had 4 teams go to the Sweet 16 since realignment: 2016 Villanova, 2017 Xavier (as an 11 seed), 2017 Butler and 2018 Villanova. Before this year, Villanova had been a 1 or 2 seed in each of the previous 5 seasons and while they obviously have the 2 titles, they also went out in the second round in the other 3 years. Xavier was a 1 seed last year as well, and also went out in the second round. It's a good thing Villanova has the 2 titles because outside of those 2 runs, the conference hasn't showed well at all.
All 3 remaining BE teams play today and all are games that could reasonably go either way. I certainly hope it doesn't happen, but the entire conference could be wiped out by the end of the day.

Marquette has its hands full, down 17 against Murray State in the 2nd Half. Ja Morant (2-Star PG) is tearing up the Golden Eagles with his speed, defense, scoring, passing abilities.
Wojo's crew appears rushed with little poise under pressure.
Average "Stars" on both team's respective rosters:
Marquette: 3.359 Murray State: 2.077
The difference - sophomore PG Ja Morant, who's got a triple-double

I've got Murray State in this game in thumper's pool. Good one. I was going to select them as well (but didn't), after hearing one of the commentators suggesting that this could be an unset game during the Selection Show. Assuming it was too late to add the Tie Breaker?

I hate to say it, but I also have St. Mary's over 'Nova. 7:20pm tonight. I don't feel as confident in that one.

Yikes.
We need someone along with Butler (and Hopefully Seton Hall) to advance in both the NIT and NCAA!

Ja Morant is a Pro right now - just needs about 15lbs of muscle on that frame.
Kid is incredible. Fun to watch
