I wanted to play on the road against a good team. Not play at home after you've gone back to back in MSG/BE. The vibes were not there and anyone who bet that game (the op maybe) under the circumstances was stupid.
I've said before if Ed can keep the people he wants I think he'll be alright next year with a key addition or two. If they lose people the staff likes... they will be in trouble again but such is the current state. The program deserves some luck after the terrible health problems.

- The 'one BE win in ten years' stat is BS, as friara points out. Getting to the Dance is the goal. Then you need to strike lightning. Hasn't happened since '97 but if we get in the next five I would bet we make a run in one of them.
- Thump, I have a rule you might find useful: Don't read anything by someone until they cross 50 posts. (I read this one because I saw walk as the last reply and I usually read his stuff)
- Go back and show me the threads where anyone said we shouldn't take Duke, MAL, Reeves, Edwards, Watson THEN you can complain about Ed's decision to offer them. Monroe and White were end-of-the-bench project material, every program has to fill its roster with those types.
- That said, Ed had a nice run of not coming up empty and he needs to get back to whatever magic gave him that run. Maybe it's transfers like Harris and Desrosiers we're missing, I dunno.
- I'm now holding my breath hoping we don't lose any of our underclassmen, no matter how bad they looked. They're the future seniors we'll be needing down the road for that run in the Dance.
- There should be a statute of limitations on the walk/AD bathroom thing. Good grief, the guy follows the team way too closely to have his fanhood questioned and he has proven over and over again to be a pretty insightful poster, in spite of his snarly attitude. And I say this as a guy who goes back to the Smitty and crew days with walk. I was target #1 Thump long before you may have been.
- Next year is huge for this program. HUGE.

White was a top 150 recruit and had offers from other P5 programs..we came in second with Ponds and White was our consolation prize. coaching staff definitely expected more from him than end of bench project player.
We get Ponds and we are playing in NCAA and St John's is in NIT . sometimes it's as simple as that.

"attacking our AD"....on my kids - BD - "some half..." Walk - "there is no chance this defense works when we get to the BE".... BD - "what do you know...you don't know anything about basketball...." ....and I depart... you don't need to police the board. JS has an opinion which has some merit for 2018-19. Story softens over the years. Heard both sides. I'll leave it at that. And js didn't have to go the bother of typing that post out. He could have saved time by merely cut and pasting one of his other 4-5 dour glimpses into Friarland. One trick pony. Six weeks of painstaking dissection. What a resource. PIZZA,SODA, GRINDERS!!!
