DePaul needs a big revamp - they are stuck at the bottom with current AD and head coach, with no real chance of ever improving . Need a new AD who understands "big time" sports (current one does not), and a new coach. Leito is retred coach who can't recruit and his poor in game (not a good combo). They should move on now - its not going to get any better, why wait? Tom Crean at DePaul would be a home run. He won up the road at Marquette, with a bunch of Chicago kids, mid-west guy, etc. A good DePaul team would own Chicago (currently a Northwestern town), and the Chicago market would finally help the Big East. I know......I see that pic of a 65 year old lady and I ask myself that women is supposed to turn around the mens basketball program at Depaul University?? Not happening Need that competitive fire, it's only in a small % of us safe to say we got lucky because we know Driscoll and Ed both have it in droves

Is firing Ollie for "cause" an admission of guilt by the UConn admin?

Very good question infoman - very good!!!
They sure have issues down in Storrs, issues that are bigger than simply replacing Kevin Ollie.
Start with a lack of $$$ in a State that is teetering.

WTM, Unfortunately we are dealing with the NCAA here, not exactly the iron fist of the law. Now if the FBI to get involved, that would be a different story....

CBS Sports reporting Tubby Smith could be out at Memphis even with a 9.75 mil buyout.
Attendance down from 16,000 during height of Josh Pastners reign to 6,000; season ticket renewals dragging.
Rumor is Alum Penny Hardaway is most likely to succeed.

Tubby lawyer says Penny has undermined him and has not helped sending him players because he wants the job. Tubby's buy out is about$9.75 mil.

If things weren't working despite my best efforts and my employer's willing to pay out the balance of the $9M on my contract when parting ways, I'd be more than willing to find the door myself. Tubby's got to be mid-60s, and if he's got to have a more than decent amount saved away after a nice career.
Time to figure out how else to spend his time, and kick into another gear focused on enjoying life.
