The eye test says yes. He seemed to have "it" during the first half of non conference play, but then the rash of injuries hit, and to be frank, he hasn't been the same since. I take it he's been battling the bug for the last month+ (which is SO PC, the ph*&ing flu/bug defines this team as much as the black and white colors).
My question is this...Can we chalk up the last 2+ months of Cartwrights play purely to health? Perhaps...But then, are we supposed to believe that when he's healthy (95% or better), that he's going to become who we all thought he would be in his senior year? I'm really starting to lose my confidence in him. Where are you guys at?

It's a team game. Kyron tends to get a good % of his points driving to the hoop, which is easier when he's confident that he has the option to kick it out to a teammate for the open shot. That works a couple a times each game, if he can hit Jalen, and or Rodney. Beyond that he hasn't had many other options from outside - although Maliek seemed to be regaining his stroke today.
I don't sense that he has much confidence in his teammate's ability to score, so he attempts to do too much in isolation - which isn't good, as he's not a pure scorer. As a result, he goes into a shooting slump, and goes into a "woe is me - funk".
That's how I see it anyways.

At the very least he has stagnated. The lift from a smart junior year to an impactful senior year has just not materialized. (I think we see that with some seniors.) There’s still time to get magical but I have a hard time trusting it will happen.

The expectation of improvement from a stats standpoint is limited when everyone returns. You'd expect to see improved maturity on the road. Just comparing us to uri. Played comparable roadies this weekend and both Ls but the teams are so much different.

Could the added bulk have impacted his game?

Could the added bulk have impacted his game? It has looked that way to me but I thought I was maybe overthinking it; perhaps not, after all.

He has never been a good finisher at the rim. He also looks very tired. He is what he is. Play out the next 4 games and see what happens.

Not to make excuses, but he was not fully healthy out there today. Was slower than he is when he is on his game.

More sickness? Almost feels like every time someone doesn't play well, there is a sick/injury post to justify it. 20 years ago, guys played and actually had bad games, and it was explained away as a bad game.

Can't score going to his right at all. That hurts his game.

Maybe he’s a student of Roman history and purposely induced vomiting twice today. Making room for that nice meal on the plane. Ha Ha you gotta get up pretty early in the morning to get one past me.
