Why oh why do I allow friggin Draif’s negativity influence me? Everyone knows Cooley is never better than when getting up off the canvas.

"Kyron was as good tonight as any point guard I have ever coached going back to my time at BC. It was fun game for the Friars." E Cooley.

Watched on dvr. Seniors led and had team support. Completely different team with Cartwright and Diallo at perhaps 85 percent healthy. Coaches and players must be encouraged by this resurgent team play to start the conference off on a high level of play. Coach took St John's strength away employing the zone.
First half Lindsey kept the Friars in the game especially early on.
Pleasantly impressed with Big Mr. Young' s tenacity tonight.. As with Watson's cool presence and poise.
St. John's unraveled when S. Ponds sidelined.
I was way off with my assessment of the team. Having KC and AD return and playing well was eye opening.

All it takes to win a BE road game is to have your Sr's play well and make shots, point grd. run with the poise of an NBA lead G and the team to shoot better than 50 from the field/3-line. And win the rebound battle. That's all. nypost.com/2017/12/28/st-johns-gets-blitzed-by-providence-in-big-east-opener/Obviously a 10/10 scale for Cartwright and it's too much to expect that again but something close may change the outlook on BE play considerably.

Watched the game via Youtube replay...never expected that type of performance but it was wonderful to see! Terrific job by the players and staff. Combined with the Celtics' comeback, what a night on the hardwood!
I'm really anticipating Sunday's game vs. Creighton...hopefully, the ball movement and hot shooting will continue for the Friars!

Loved the shortened rotation....although the big minute guys all played well so there was no need to sub...
Did MAL not play in the second ?

But when he did come in and Cartwright sat in the first half I believe is when SJ went on their mini run that Cooley stopped with a timeout. Then he put KC back in with MAL.

MAL didn't play in the 2nd half. I think Jackson spelled Lindsey for a couple min in the 2nd half

The Johnnies better hope Ponds and Lovett get healthy very quickly... As we saw, injuries can really affect a team. It seems there is quite a few college players going out for the season. UCONN and Maryland each announced one yesterday.
