We would have been a top 15-20 team all day with Holt...without him I'd predict us in the 25-40 range...Never a lock to make the tourney considering more injuries can happen and how competitive the BE looks...BUT, I would bet big money we get a 5th straight tourney if we avoid any more major losses like Holt. Don't doubt Cooley is one thing we should know by now.
Alpha Diallo is primed for a big year. I see him breaking out similar to Bentil 2 years ago as a soph (different players obviously, speaking in terms of impact). Kid is easily our best all around player and the most slept on player in the BE...so that is one reason we should calm down a bit. Kid is ready to become a big dog in this conference and that is something we didn't really have last year.
Our situation at the 5 does concern me, but I think one of Watson or Young will become servicable this year. Can't give up on Young yet, but my money is on Watson emerging...small ball with Bullock at the 5 is going to be interesting as well. We can really switch it up 1-4 and our guards + wing versatility will be a big strength...obviously Bullock at the 5 won't work vs some teams, but we'll see.

Friars will make it to the Big Dance. Even without Holt, there is more talent on this year’s club than last year’s. Anything is possible, but I would be shocked if PC was not dancing in March, even if the sky is falling in Gansett

Here's Mike Hopkins' prediction for the season. He has us losing 3 OOC games, who do you think those teams are?
Preseason predictions: 21-10 (10-3 OOC, 11-7 Big East); NCAA Tournament 7 seed

don't recall seeing the part about pressing and running...that's not really Ed's style. Ed spent almost the entire Baruch exhibition imploring every defender to "pressure the ball!!" over and over and over again. Maybe because individually we were so much more athletic than their D3 players - and he was trying to force chaos instead of letting them freely dribble and pass? I don't think it showed on video that we were more aggressive than usual, but it definitely popped out as a theme to me (at the quiet arena).

I had the projected starting 5 after last season as Cartwright, Diallo, Lindsey, Buillock and Holt. As of now we are looking at Cartwright, Diallo, Jackson, Bullock and Young. I thought this team could be the best that Cooley has had with the returning talent and depth. For that to happen there were 3 guys who had to stay healthy, Cartwright, Holt and Diallo. Now with Holt hurt, I see us as a bubble to 7 seed.
I also expected Young to be further along. So with Young having not shown a "sophomore jump", it magnifies the loss of Holt even more. Lose Diallo or Cartwright for any extended time, turn the lights out.

Yes, because we have Ed Cooley in charge. As always we must get through a decently challenging OOC with 10 wins.

I know that we cannot rely on freshman, but I think Watson is going to have to be as good as advertised for PC to be as good as expected.
