@wildjays reporting that PC likely not in Gavitt Games this coming season. Said 2K Classic makes it almost impossible to participate (same situation as Marquette this past season, according to him/her).
Our schedule will take a hit without Gavitt Games because we can't get any majors to schedule us. Better lose some of the 300+ games that we can control.

Ugh, and didn't a major team (Indiana?) pull out of the 2K classic recently? This is not setting up to be a good OOC in 2018. Might be worth a road game vs a blue blood or a neutral vs a major if we can find one.
I know with the Gavitt games only 8 teams from each conference participate so this was bound to happen, but a double whammy for us this upcoming season.

Yeah, IU pulled out. Think St. Louis replaced them. Shaping up to be a very important tournament for PC if the rest of the schedule is garbage.

We've been lucky in recent years in tournaments and we've also made our luck by winning, but I hate to depend on that to get a good OOC draw. There's also the possiblity we win and the other major or majors lose and we still face a mid major in the tourney. We need some guarenteed big names. I would be fine with netreual games in NY or Mohegan or wherever Cooley can schedule and even a road game vs a Kentucky, NC, Kansas, someone with an expected strong season, just for RPI and scheduling purposes even if we lose.
