IF Hopkins does well at Washington, I would expect him or Cuse to buy out the remaining years and for him to wind up at Syracuse after all. Just guessing.

David Borges @daveborges 29m29 minutes ago Another name to keep an eye on in Quinnipiac men's hoops coach search: Xavier assistant Travis Steele.

Sorry walk but I just can't share your love for scumbags like Boeheim. He was quite obliging when coming off the canvas after the Bernie Fine disgrace and the other chit that lead to what turned out to be a slap on the wrist by the ncaa and a minor suspension. Simply stated he is a Pig...I get it, he wins cuse.com/news/2017/3/19/Boeheim31917.aspx

Speaking of Turgeon...it's very unfair perhaps But I despise him by just looking at him. That's a character flaw on my part to be sure.
WALK...is he a nice guy?

I found the Hopkins situation to be odd. He was the coach in waiting but he never sat next to Boeheim---Autry did. I can't remember seeing a team where the associate head coach( or in this case coach in waiting) sitting in the middle of the bench players and not with the rest of the coaches.

Mike Hopkins? As in the long-ago-announced successor to the curmudgeon of coaching, Jim Boeheim ? Wow. I guess he got frustrated waiting for his chance to take over the reigns. Reportedly a 6-Year deal. I guess this gives Boeheim a reason to not retire after the '17-'18 season. Jim does everything on his terms, even if it means stringing along a long-time assistant Looks as though my opinion is shared by others... sports.yahoo.com/news/jim-boeheim-wins-back-the-right-to-retire-on-his-own-terms-001619440.html

From a Quinnipiac perspective, but contains other tidbits of interest: www.nhregister.com/sports/20170320/quinnipiac-getting-closer-to-hiring-next-mens-basketball-coachAmong those believed to be considered strongly for the job are Jared Grasso, the Iona associate head coach who was a star player and assistant coach at Quinnipiac; Vermont head coach John Becker, a Fairfield native; Xavier associate head coach Travis Steele; St. Bonaventure’s head coach Mark Schmidt; former UConn star and Quinnipiac assistant and current Southern Connecticut head coach Scott Burrell; Albany head man Will Brown and Robert Morris’s Andrew Toole. Amodio [Quinnipiac AD] is also said to be high on Winthrop head coach Pat Kelsey, who was a player and assistant at Xavier when Amodio was there. But Kelsey reportedly is interested in returning to the Ohio area. A New York Post report that former Rutgers head coach Mike Rice was a top candidate has been labeled as nothing short of ridiculous by multiple sources. Quinnipiac wants its men’s team to be a bellwether program on campus, and is reportedly willing to pay very well (upwards of $800,000) for the right guy. Becker has led UVM to six straight 20-win seasons since being hired in 2011 and a pair of NCAA tournament appearances, including this year. He’s currently making about $220,000 a year. Becker’s family still lives in the Fairfield area.

Walk On Hopkins: "sounds like jb did just fine for the kid." You are absolutely correct Walk...when Hopkins was a Kid yes Boeheim made him assoc hc and promised him the HC job at Cuse But that was when Hoppy was a Kid...the poor bastage is 47 now which is about Cooley's age Boeheim pulled the same crap with Hoppy that Flanagan did with that load FiFi and then passed over him while we wound up with the Booby Prize Anyway I figure Hoppy will fail just like FiFi did...but this is not a story about those two losers ...Oh No the fascinating thread that runs through all the cheating and dis-honorable conduct of their bosses is not even the story...your fascination with these cheaters and liars is the real story
