Exactly Rock. Not fair to single out Chukwu as the offending Friar in the Dayton game. pc1971 was in attendance and from his first hand reports wrote of the frenzied atmosphere to add to Dayton's advantage and to factor into Providence's downfall Not singling out Chukwu for his poor performance vs. Dayton.I am just pointing out that he played badly. Not the only one who did. But,Jalen played well that late nite,Dayton crazy crowd D or not. Rock,I do not share your optimism as to pascal's 2015-2016 stat line being as good as you set forth. That is a long way from what he did last season.

11/8/4 is a bigtime stretch for this coming season. Maybe in his 3rd year... I think the kid could be an NBA player some day, but that is crazy talk. Crazy talk? Let's tackle that. Does he get 25 minutes? I say 100% certainty of that. Now simply extrapolate his per minute numbers from '14/'15 and add a very small bump for, I dunno, getting better in one additional year of development and, I dunno, getting better with more minutes played and he lands at what I projected. The 4 blocks might be a push; more like 3.3 or so, I'll grant you that. But crazy talk? You must have expected he'd go from 10 minutes a game to far fewer than I do or that he's gonna actually regress. Which is it?

He should have played a LOT more minutes the 2nd half of last year and that's why he left. That's exactly why he left.
As has been pointed out on these pages before, CD stunk in long stretches in a bunch of games that should have warranted more PT for The Chooch.
Cooley's finest moment was the Butler game on the road when he benched some guys at the half. Seems like a long long time ago now if you're The Chooch.

His guardians had him choose between St. Joe's and PC..he wanted a larger school so now he has that.

I really really wish that was the reason boston. Regrettably it is not the case. I guess we disagree on this one.

Like Cooley, I have moved on,and while I had planned on staying away from further comments, I question anybody questioning his size, talent, ability, NBA outlook...just sour grapes IMO...I was sour too initially....

I agree. Chukwu had the size, talent, ability ,NBA outlook that caused PC folks, me included to not want him to leave. With his great hands, once he matured physically and mentally, I do believe he would be an NBA player and good college player before he was done. My main point was putting so much of the 2015-2016 expectations in his shoulders .IMHO, too many were overly downgrading the prospects of this year's team because he left.

I would add that Pascal might have taken a big jump this season. This coaching staff has done a very good job of improving talent. Unfortunately, in some cases, they have lost players before we got to see them really blossom. But Brooks and Cotton became outstanding offensive players. Henton and Batts are eexamples of inside players who really improved as well. I think we tend to undervalue Henton because he was always the 2nd wheel but he was an outstanding 4 year starter. I also thought Bentil took a major step up between OCC and Conference play last year. So if Pascal had stayed, who knows what strides this staff would have achieved w him. Tough loss

Gone is gone but leaving because of wanting more minutes to sit a year and get no minutes and play in a zone system that provides no NBA transition......I believe that.....

Boston I did not say he was smart to transfer, to the contrary that's why I call him The Chooch which is really a critical term in my old neighborhood.
He left for the reason I stated according to THREE sources ...and you can't get any higher, as in NO Higher, than two of them. BTW, the resulting situation was so
avoidable that it makes me sick.
Again...let's agree to disagree on this one...to me he is Dead

Had a couple of interns in my office this summer....I was told that PC wanted no part of having to do the academic work that Cooley demands. I put this on the other hood and had a private message from a student's father that said he had heard the same. The fact that he chose to head up to Cuse kind of plays into that theory. Heard that he threw a fit during final exams.
And for the record, you must have seen a different Chukwu than I did, because save for 3 or 4 times in the floor, he couldn't guard a fly. He'll be big time by the time he hits the floor for Cuse next year, and he would have made us much better this year simply because we have nothing else, but he wasn't ready to do more than what he did last year.

Agree 100% your last paragraph. Cooley gave him as much time as he could without costing us games. Chukwu simply wasn't ready to handle more.

Whatever his reason for leaving, we need to get some talented size on the floor...
