1. The first round was dominated by the revolving door also known as Kentucky, with Duke doing its best to serve as its turnstile - understudy. After watching him navigate the Green Room so well, why don't they just ask Cal to hand out the hats. Speaking of Cal, does anyone believe him when he states that getting the kids drafted is more coveted than winning an NCAA Championship?
2. Add in the Euro's and a good number of the lottery slots were accounted for.
3. After watching the draft unfold, my sense is that Dunn (had he come out)would have been selected in the mid-late First Round.
4. Only representatives of the BE were Pointer and Hilliard. The Conference needs to have a better showing in the future.
5. LaDontae has been invited to play for Golden State in Summer League. Hopefully, he'll get the opportunity to show GMs what a true "warrior" he is.
6. Most all of the draftees who were interviewed coming off the dais seemed like well grounded, articulate kids.
7. Based upon what I saw, I've got to add a bright colored, shawl collared tux jacked to my wardrobe. Perhaps "The Most Interesting Man in the World" has an extra one or two that he can toss my way. Any chance he has a spare set of spike-studded shoes like the pair that Kelly Oubre was wearing?
8. Hopefully Joe Young will be able to commute from Houston to Indiana on a daily basis, in order to remain nearby his ailing aunt.
9. I miss the comedic value of hearing the fans boo the Commissioner. Can they arrange cameo appearances by David Stern in the future?

Boston College PG Oliver Hanlan was selected by the Utah Jazz in the second round. Making it tougher for Cotton to make that team out of training camp. Tough break for Cotton...

Good stuff '82.
- As a Celtics fan I'm close to mortified. (Did Bill Belichick run this draft for them?) You can't win with a roster of combo guards.
- I'm guessing ESPN came close to hitting the bleep-out button with so many draftees praising and thanking God. Had to kill them.
- With all the hype of 2014 I'd have to say this draft was an equal in talent, maybe even better? Look at it this way: does Aaron Gordon go four this year? Nick Stauskis eight? Lot's of questions like that when you compare each board.
- Prior years, trading into the lottery seemed pretty easy, this year it became a locked vault. Curious development and one that had to frustrate Ainge/Belichick.
- Boston Globe did a nice analysis yesterday of history of trading up into the lottery and essentially showed that it fails 2/3rd's of the time. Maybe the C's got lucky on this one.

If you are referring to the board's "Most Interesting Man" ala Dex, then the answer is no.. He is stuck in the 60's still wearing the same old Black and White tux that the Jersey Boy's wore..

I wouldn't classify that as "old" mikemc... but rather, classic elegance. Judging by the commercials, the look appears to attract the dames.

And his days of attracting the dames are long gone by. LOL ....gotta love friartown...

second round picks get cut all the time. I'd even say cotton has the upper hand for the backup pg spot.

I agree boys...there is nothing better than being able to score the basketball and Cotton does that with his reliable shot. Also, because he is better conditioned than his opponent, even his defense in 5-10 minute spurts can be harassing unlike playing 41 minutes per game. Hopefullt Hanlan is a chip for the Jazz.

I think Kris would have been a lottery pick last night. There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that Ainge was gunning for him all along subsequent to his many visits to the joe mullaney gymnasium at alumni hall on the campus of providence college. However I do think the Celts would have had to move up a tad to block Billy D Munster from selecting Kris over Payne. I welcome all thoughts that agree with me.

When the Payne selection by Oklahoma City was announced, I rationalized that this was where (if not before) Kris would have been taken.

I hope you guys are right about Bryce. According to Jazz GM Lindsey, Hanlan will be competing with Cotton for a roster spot. Exum is their future pg still, until proven otherwise. And they have not traded Burke. Yet. In my own mind, without a doubt, Cotton is better then Burke. I'm just hoping, since all 4 potential PG's will play in the 2 Summer League sessions, that Bryce will demonstrate the need to have him on the roster. And Hanlan will be out to prove he should be on the roster: www.deseretnews.com/article/865631545/Jazzs-Hanlan-out-to-prove-a-second-round-pick-can-make-it-in-NBA.html?pg=all

Agree Dunn would have gone in mid-first round - Celtics with pick of Rozier have fans scratching heads so maybe Ainge plans to package a trade shortly? IF Celts wanted him and he was declared, I am not sure they would have had to move up to get him at 16 so first round yes, lottery, maybe...thinking 16 would have gotten it done for the C's.
All I can advise Oliver H is to work harder than he ever has in his life if he expects to beat out Bryce Cotton for that roster spot because NOBODY will ever out work (or be prepared better) than Cotton. Guessing Hanlan is a tad taller, (who isn't?), yet let us all remember Bryce has already had his cup of coffee and he impressed showing he can and will play in the league. Hanlan more like likely headed for D league...
