Good stuff.
I'm with others - Ed should try to lock down the 2nd big as well, while he's on campus today.

That was from May 2014. He subsequently opted for the postgrad year a few months later and went from class of 2014 to 2015. That can certainly change offers/slots that were open.

I saw that as well with FiFi. The last guy he brought in worked out so hopefully this one does as well. Smith is saying the right things.

I agree completely, for all of us old timers, this is the kind of kid that ends up having a great career here, under recruited/ranked with a chip on his shoulder. great teammate, basketball IQ, warrior. What is not to like?

Great job by the staff to close the deal and bring this young man into the fold. We sure need some bulk so for those who have been asking "where's the beef?" Here he is...(we hope!!!)

Mac, my condolences...
This absolutely sounds like the type of player who will flourish under Cooley. I would have been fine with him if he signed up before Pascal got sad and turned his back on his team and decided to bail.
Back to the point...I mean this as a positive...but it looks like he can do everything except jump. I think that KD will be able to take advantage of his size and mobility out there.
Props to LaFleaur. The situation here could not have been any more promising for a big man, but hopefully he gained some confidence and got a little recruiting mojo back...
This pickup is better than I expected. I expected somebody with size and talent, but I also expected this person to sit on the bench for the majority of the season. This guy should be able to contribute.

www.providencejournal.com/article/20150615/SPORTS/150619519/13933/breaking_ajaxThere's no such thing as summer off for PC's Cooley Even though it is the off-season, Ed Cooley is a busy man these days. By KEVIN McNAMARA Journal Sports Writer Posted Jun. 15, 2015 at 6:55 PM PROVIDENCE – If Ed Cooley’s cell phone, email in-box and mind all seem a bit jumbled these days, there is plenty of reason why. At a time when other college basketball coaches are enjoying holidays, Cooley is multi-tasking more than he ever has in his coaching career. Due to some unexpected roster attrition, the Providence College coach and his staff are still searching for help for the 2015-16 season. Monday marked the first day coaches could begin calling Class of 2017 recruits and Cooley says he owned a long list of numbers. A few of his current players are wrapping up the first summer school session and Cooley says new assistant coach Jeff Battle is settling into his office at Alumni Hall. If that sounds like a full plate, consider that Cooley isn’t even in the Eastern Time Zone for the next three weeks. He’s serving as an assistant coach for USA Basketball’s Under-19 team that’s currently in training camp in Colorado Springs, Colo. Cooley, head coach Sean Miller (Arizona), assistant coach Archie Miller (Dayton) and a selection committee headed by Syracuse’s Jim Boeheim cut an initial group of 21 candidates to 16 on Monday. The team heads to Greece this weekend and begins play in the FIBA World Championships June 27. “It’s been crazy, for sure,” Cooley said from Colorado. “My staff has been great but it’s definitely about multi-tasking a lot of things right now. We’ll be all right. I’m happy where we are.” PC is apparently still awaiting paper work and has yet to confirm the addition of one late recruit after 6-7, 280-pound Quadree Smith said last week that he’ll enroll at the school this summer. Smith, a Potomac, Md., native, finished his prep career at IMG Academy this past year. He’s not the only addition Cooley and the Friars hope to make. John Carlos Reyes, a 6-9 center from the Dominican Republic who prepped at Sound Doctrine Academy outside Atlanta this year, visited PC before Cooley headed to Colorado. Reyes could decide among the Friars, Penn State and Boston College in the next few days. PC is scrambling to add to its roster at this late date due to the transfer of 7-2 Paschal Chukwu, who is looking at Kansas, Nebraska, Syracuse, Connecticut and other possible landing spots. The Friars may also have to fill a hole created if 6-8 Alex Owens, a Florida forward, does not qualify academically. “We’re adding frontcourt depth right now,” Cooley said in general terms when asked about his spring recruiting efforts. “I like the quality of guys we’re talking to a lot.”
