Yeah, from what I can see, this is not a case of "pssst...there's going to be an announcement Saturday" and now everyone is speculating "well, I wonder what will it be about"? Instead, it sounds like the cat's out of the bag before Saturday night now, because the source is not discouraging the belief that it's all about Dunn returning. If he's right, it probably will be announced before Saturday that Dunn is coming back.

The only thing I've seen said big announcement....no link to anything.... Well, I don't want to advertise the other board, but a subsequent tweet to the original credits Coren,,and Coren makes it clear where he's coming from over on that board. You can interpret him different. I'm not going to twist anyone's arm should you think that no, it isn't spelled right out. I think it's made pretty clear from the conversation between 2, Coren being one. The other going into insurance complications that were more involved then expected. But what do I really know? They don't sound like they're speculating. They sound like they know. Coren is the original source, according to the tweet, and he is making it clear Dunn is returning and there will be an announcement Saturday night. It's extremely difficult not to put 2 and 2 together at that point. But, I'm not twisting arms to that effect. That's how I read it, maybe it's all just false bravado after all.

Friar82 hit it on the head... in all honesty this is what I have been told for about a week now with different people saying similar things. (It's my tweet after all) but I would not be shocked if the school tries to get an answer out of Kris by Friday. Well, this is confusing. I would assume the school, in the form of Cooley at least, already knows the answer. Otherwise, Cooley is out of the loop the sources are in, the loop involving an announcement. Is it possible even Cooley doesn't know Dunn's decision? Do you mean the schools tries to get Kris to make it public by Friday instead of waiting till the dinner? Dunn has to decide by the end of Sunday, so it is going to seem strange heading into Saturday night with still not do much as a peep out of Dunn. Sorry about that...I mean Cooley and I mean athletics...they would like it done before the dinner. But Cooley (and all of Friartown) just want to keep him past Sunday at midnight so he can't leave.

Coren apparently was hinting at it yesterday...I do not go on there so I did not know. I tweeted out some respect to Coren. Nothing matters until we hear it from Kris.
Am I as confident as some are making Coren out to be? I am beyond his confidence. And his seems pretty high.

Corey has been on the "staying bus" for over a month....has nothing to do with the sat announcement.....unless that's when he decides to announce.(obviously)....they also predicted dunn staying announcements coming tomorrow two or three days last week...

Walk again I just I don't know what he's been saying I don't know what anyone else has been saying I just know what I've heard and I didn't put it out until today because I was waiting for two sources to confirm what I had been hearing from other sources and I really just trust these two people more than others theyve been good for me in the past so I'm glad thry gave me the info today and it took a little bit longer.
I'm glad Coren is saying it. I respect him and Steve they do a great job. I think we are all glad things look good.

Some play a game of saying they know something (Dunn is staying) so that if he does they look like they have inside info and can become an internet red carpet celebrity. If it turns out opposite (Dunn isn't staying) they just default to he changed his mind or their source was wrong. Perfect charlatan scheme. Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain.
As for what such a supposed announcement could supposedly contain? Who knows. New assistant coach, Cooley extension, Shammgod promotion, scheduling news, facility upgrade, anything. I'd find it very odd that you'd make an announcement that a kid isn't leaving. That would be unprecedented and make the program seem a bit small, IMHO.

Well, Coren did post the original tweet over there, without saying he was one source for the tweet. So he did want it out there. When it was then learned he was the source, he said he has known this was the likely outcome as he saw it since March 1st! He claims one source for his info. Which he paints as someone so impeccable/highly placed, that were we to hear the name, I take it our response might be. "Oh, well then, in THAT case, OK Richard, case made". Again, you're pointing out the possibility of essentially "puffing oneself up". He states, as Walk points out, to have been on this bus since the start. But, let's at least admit, that doesn't mean he and his source is full of it. His confidence has affected me. Really, that's all, his confidence has affected me. Coren's basic message: Beginning March 1st, he learned Kris was leaning toward returning. Subsequently, his source has made that possibility seem stronger and stronger and stronger, justifying, in Coren's eyes, the extreme confidence he displays over there. BTW, he really does not seem to be an egomaniac or "look at me" about it.

Corey has been on the "staying bus" for over a month....has nothing to do with the sat announcement.....unless that's when he decides to announce.(obviously)....they also predicted dunn staying announcements coming tomorrow two or three days last week... Yes, I remember. I just think they talk like people in a position of being privy to real good sources. But when you don't know who those sources are, you can never know with certainty what is just bragging. Disclose that Cooley is the source Coren is using, and then OK, Richard, we're listening, lol. Maybe you're right. But if Coren has such a source telling him with increasing certainty, as Coren has claimed, that Dunn is staying, would it not seem logical that conveying to Coren that there will be a big announcement likely came with Dunn as the subject matter? You are suggesting not necessarily, that Coren is, in a sense, perhaps just wishful thinking that is the announcement. Whearas I thought he must have been told something more specific about the nature of the announcement. At the moment, there is no proof of that one way or the other. To me, and maybe it's just me, given what loop Coren claims to be in, a loop that is very close to the situation involving Dunn's decision, I just think whoever told him "announcement Saturday" did not also tell Coren" don't ask me what it's about". I just suspect, because it just seems logical, that such a leak given to Coren from the same source he thinks so darn highly of, came with the knowledge that it would be about Dunn. But, in fairness, earlier claims that the announcement was coming last week is good enough to want to keep an arms length still from all "rumors".

Am I as confident as some are making Coren out to be? I am beyond his confidence. And his seems pretty high. Yes, he was. And another poster there seemed directly privy to work being done to finalize an insurance policy to protect Kris should he be injured before next year's draft. It could be "look at all I know, and you don't". But I too am brimming with confidence right now. For one thing, I came to the conclusion that even a known chronic waffler like me could not still be undecided on the 22nd of April. So I don't believe he is still undecided. And I just believe if he was entering the draft, he would have done so. Because recruits, etc would like to know I'm sure and why would Kris hamper the program's efforts in that respect? Over there, the insurance policy is being cited as one reason for a delay in announcing. What Kris says is all that matters. But, for me, I am certain that he is returning.

Actually Charl...that's exactly what happened.....big announcement coming sat.....speculation that it's dunn..... I guess it's a difference in simple assumptions. You're assuming Coren learned there is to be an announcement, and he is speculating it's going to be about Dunn. I assume he was told the nature of the announcement by the source he's relying on, and, because he was, he was unable to bite his tongue over there. He did link it with Dunn. So the question is whether Coren was speculating or dropping hints because he knows what the announcement is. I thought the latter, but of course I can't say that with certainty. It just seemed a somewhat logical deduction given everything Coren has said. If someone told Coren "an announcement Saturday", I just suspect he was told why, if this same source has made Coren privy to the decision process in the first place. But it could be cryptic. Coren asks "what announcement?" His source says "you know, wink, wink". So maybe Coren is speculating. I can't prove he isn't speculating. So I think where you and I differ is I cannot determine with certainty that his comments point to speculation on his part. It sounds like he dropped hints that it involved Dunn because he knows it does. He did not come out and say "my best guess as to what the announcement is about....". So our differences is to what degree we see Coren as speculating or not.

rock's take on inside info is appreciated, because some of us were told directly, and back some time ago, from a very reliable source that Kris wanted to come back as getting his degree is very important - he is a solid student-athlete; always has been.
Coach Cooley and his family have been actively exploring the NCAA insurance option to measure that route vs. departing this year. The lean here has been to go that route meaning he would return to PC, work on his skills, and try to enhance his position into a solid lottery pick in 2016.
So what has happened?
Well he has steadily moved up in many of the mock drafts.
Here are the projections today, Wednesday, April 22...
Draft Express: #13 (LOTTERY) Draft Net: #23 (1st Round) Sam Vecenie, CBSSports.com NBA Writer: #10 (LOTTERY) Bleacher Report: #26 (1st Round) USA TODAY: #14 (LOTTERY) Draft Site: #14 (LOTTERY) Chad Forde, ESPN: #18 (First Round)
