I do not disagree but Chicago is ripe for the taking for some good coach. Important hire here for DePaul.

I would be tempted by Greg Gard, Bo Ryan's long term assistant. I guess Tyrone Corbin is in the mix, but NBA experience does not always translate.

The University of Pennsylvania announced on Monday its new hire of Steve Donahue, former Boston College and Cornell coach.
He becomes the 20th coach in the 115-year history of the Penn men's basketball program. Donahue has Penn ties; throughout the 1990s he was an assistant under longtime Quakers coach/current Temple coach Frank Dunphy.
"I am thrilled to be coming back to Penn as its head men's basketball coach," Donahue said in a statement. "Having been a part of Philadelphia and Penn basketball for the greater part of my life, I have a great passion for this city and this program. I spent 10 extraordinary years as an assistant here at Penn working with one of the great head coaches in all of college basketball, Fran Dunphy. That, combined with my experiences as head coach at Cornell and Boston College, have led me to this distinct opportunity to return the program that I grew up watching to national prominence. I plan to provide the energy and the enthusiasm that will put Penn basketball back atop the Ivy League."
Donahue, 52, coached at Boston College from 2010-2014 with a 54-76 record, failing to reach an NCAA Tournament during his time there. Before that, he was the longtime coach at Cornell, a tenure that culminated with three consecutive trips to the NCAAs. His 2009-10 team earned a 12 seed and reached the Sweet 16.
Jerome Allen was let go from Penn earlier this month after spending five seasons on the Quakers' bench. Allen won 26 games total in the past three seasons.

UGGH!!! I got to think Strickland's off the court issuescould be a major issue. Actually I am not sure any of the 3 have any proven college coaching success.

Speaking of the coaching carousel, I saw Tim Welsh on an NCAA show last night. He is really good in studio analysis. I guess he was doing Big 12 games this year and was very impressed with Oklahoma. As usual, he was also very positive about PC and Dunn in particular. If Strickland name is under consideration, I wonder if Holy Cross would consider TW. That might be a win-win for both.

Geez ORR might have the all-time record for being mentioned for coaching jobs thru the years He must be in his 80s now Had a good thing going there for a minute at SHU........at least I think that was him #1 ranked recruiting class in nation but unfortunately for Louis a couple of players in class never lived up to the hype. Marcus Toney-El? Mike Marra part deux, greatest shooter we've never seen but once they got to college they couldn't hit two in a row. Griffin was a supreme talent but what a headcase. Reminded of him last week when I watched a 30 for 30 segment on former SHU center Luther Wright.

Fairfield reportedly firing their associate head coach and their assistant coach. I will take that to mean that they do not have enough money to buy out Sydney Johnson. I was kind of expecting Simon to wind up there.
