Just getting around now, to see the box score from today's game.
While LaDontae had a "down day", there was plenty of scoring to go along with the Kris Dunn highlight film...and just on time, including 26 points off the bench, with 11 each for Cartwright (on 5-5 shooting) and Harris, coupled with 4 from Pascal Chukwu.
And how about the production from Ben Bentil with 10 pts? Not to mention, a nice blocked shot at the rim.
Keep it up guys...believe in yourselves! Henton is going to come storming back to get his... assuming others can sustain this sort of production while continuing to play stout defense, PC might continue to make some noise.
Tough stretch ahead, but today's game could serve as a nice foundation for the gauntlet over the next several games.
In the meantime, there's nothing like a few benchmarks vs. years gone by:
- Impressive OOC record being bolstered by Miami and ND's victories over Duke of late - One of "two losses" that ND has incurred - RPI ranked at #17 - Defending BE Champs, currently at the top of the Conference - Marquis players that the pundits weren't going to silence in Dunn and Henton - A team that actually plays Defense - And 2 OT wins of late, reflective of the "Winning Culture" that Ed Cooley has established.
I know, I know... as Johnny is prone to say... "one game at a time" ...

Depaul has a bunch of good players. we let our guard down a little in the 2nd half and bang..they hung like 49 on us
one other thing '82, a good job with the FTs today

As we learned last season, FT's can carry you across the chasm that exists between Losses and Wins. Good to hear they got it done from the Charity Stripe as well!
I've been waiting for the patented, Cooley - Late Season drive to begin. Given the start to our season, it's not going to storm up on us in the way of Wins that dig us out of the hole... perhaps is starting to take hold, in the form of a sustained run at the top of the Conference.
On to MSG (I was hoping to be there, but will be spending my 2nd Saturday in the office)!!

Life isn't fair sometimes '82 Imagine being a student and having to go to class today or even our friend walk having to play cow pasture pool 6 days per week in the off season? The way Paschal started out I thought he was going to get the triple double.

Sat there following Dunn on GameTracker as he pursued his triple double whilst dex moaned during the second half even as we were coasting over a DePaul team that is developing.
We are in a good spot right now 82 even as we face a stretch of toughies on the road - this team can and hopefully will get a W or two along that path. Yes, one game at a time but you bring some good stuff up here - our credentials are there even as challenges remain.
Agree with Henton 'down' the step up is crucial to spread out the effort knowing Kris Dunn is emerging as a player nobody know how to tackle - he is that good as a disruptive force out there on the court, presently playing on a different level.
We have some nice pieces who stepped up yesterday and must continue to be there down the stretch.

"whilst dex moaned during the second half" saw this first hand from the restaurant area.. I don't how you are able to concentrate on what is happening in the game while Dex is in your ear the whole time. He has to stop talking with his hands so much, it must be an annoyance to your fellow section dwellers..
....gotta love friartown...

Oh Hi Mike so now I see you've added fibbing to your repertoire of obnoxious behavior. You had announced to algor's entire internet that you had to work yesterday. Actually we did see a guy up in the Roost with a pail of beer around his neck and thought at first it was indeed you. BTW our section has a non-alcohol designation so don't even try to upgrade near us next year.
WTM has a good right ear and HE chose to sit to my left to absorb my commentary and thereby enhance his experience. YOU... I would charge.
