This is good stuff - and hey how is the ABU vs. Bentil watch going so far?
What was bandied about was that Terrel was off Cooley's radar for whatever reason and he was not coming here. Looks like a fine developing player for URI who is getting lots of minutes; not sure comparison with Jalen Lindsey is accurate as we had Lindsey in hand so it was not an either or, was it? He did not overly impress me the other night as in "Man we should have gotten him" - he played hard and tough but the jury is still out before we make him the next Dave Bing...( as in another player we did not get - just me sayin' walk - not putting words on you...)
On Lindsey, I agree his play thus far has been very spotty even hesitant and his health misfortunes have had to have affected his development 10 games in...so he gets a pass and an 'incomplete' from this observer. Seems he has time to come around as long as what we saw vs. URI from the whole team continues to be the way we approach the effort - they were fundamentally better and different from the opening tip-off as compared to the uneven play up at the Heights let alone that stink bomb brown stain...

curious on the bullish prediction rock.....is it as simple as our young guys getting experience? Maybe because I don't want to admit being wrong about my sunny forecast, maybe it's genuine. I keep almost going back and forth on that. But, seriously, it's more based on how Ed's teams have unfolded, always getting much better in the new year. I also think teams with this much length and defensive potential seem to emerge eventually. So to summarize my bullish prediction: part commitment to myself, part belief in Ed and his roster. None of this should suggest I don;t see the warts or the damage done losing to Brown. I get it. Thin line for us now. Never would have thought that after Mohegan.

I worry not one bit about Lindsey. Not one bit. He's gonna be a star. This year? Only in glimpses. The comparison between he and Terrell is immaterial. Different players, different positions, different sizes, different skills. I don't get at all why the two are in a post together. To me, Terrell would help this year and maybe next but if Ed starts landing guards as well as he has landed front-court players then the kids value would eventually have a diminishing return. Still like to have him, of course.

not sure comparison with Jalen Lindsey is accurate as we had Lindsey in hand so it was not an either or, was it?....exactly....I said I wish we had the kid...I did not say I wish we had the kid instead if Lindsey....however, he would be playing the bulk of the 2G minutes with our current roster and Lindsey's minutes would be coming at the 3...Cooley's on record saying we need two guards (think he said the same last year)....if you don't think a Terrell type could be one of them, you're nuts.

Fair enough walk...Terrell type is more than welcomed; just do think that Terrell himself was not going to happen with Cooley backing off for whatever reason... (even as he re-visited post OKState change of heart). Do think he could be a fine player at URI...

I'm trying to remember-was Terrell the bait to get Mitchell to go to PC?
No. Bait for Abu.
And Yes WTM, there will be more Abu/Bentil notes as periodically.

Bingo. not getting Terrell only hurt after Fortune transferred and Terrell probably knew he would be behind a two year starter who had a better outside shot than he did. Anyways, I am not a big believer in go after guys a second time. There was a reason why they did not commit the first time, better to get a fresh start with someone else.
Terrell wound up at a level that is perfect for him and his game. Yes, at PC like Rock said he would have gotten a lot of playing time his first two years but there would have been diminishing returns his junior and senior years as PC went after other guards.

I know what was reported here...kmac reported that we were interested....then it was written here that we backed off....but there's no chance you can say we don't need a Terrell type on this roster...at least the way it's made up today.....according to the other hood...mr Lindsey had zeros across the statline after 22 minutes last night.... Also did we forget about Donovan Mitchell.....I did not...but a huge error if that's why we didn't recruit him...especially if dun bolts.... Rock...well said.... During the game it was mentioned that Cooley wanted Terrell “bad”.
