Notice that Kyron again hits 2-2 FTs in the final minute. He's lining up as the ball-handler of choice at game's end. 7asts vs 3to's.
Also notice a DNP for Lomamba as the bench has been shortened.

One astute Friar fan sitting by us said Cooley has got to settle on a core 7 and stop all the shuffling. Fill in with others as needed.
So maybe he is getting to a core 7: last night's starting 5 (Lindsey over Cartwright with the start) and Cartwright, Chukuw for Carson...fill in with Bentil/Lomomba/Ted as the situations dictates.
Of note last night with Henton fouling out both of the 7 footers were in the game.

I do see Bentil getting more time as needed/his play dictates, lately he's been quiet/disappointing but he also showed flashes before that of being a big time contributor. I do hope Cooley shortens the rotation like he did last night and plugs in the guys you mention strategically.

Chukwu has moved past Bentil and seemingly will now get most, if not all of the minutes at center when Carson is not in the game. I would not want to see Bentil lumped in with Ted and Junior. Even if Bentil's minutes are cut to backing up Harris and Henton for 8-10 minutes a game, I still think this would be worthwhile, and hopefully not too confusing. Doesn't mean this can't be revisited, but I hope Bentil is not dealt out of having a defined role at this point.

I think its a fluid situation, we'll see different spurts where Lindsey, Cartwright, Bentil and Chukwu are playing better and or getting more minutes and someone is left sitting more on the bench. I don't think it is safe to say things will stick. 3 or 4 games ago I would have said Bentil was a lock and Chukwu was barely playing, now it is reversed. Could and probably will swap again. These guys are Freshman. All that said I agree Bentil needs to get some minutes, the guy is good, just still finding his way.

I think Bentil's problem right now has been pcking up silly fouls on defense and hanging out on the perimeter on offense too much. He really needs to be in the paint mixing it up and he needs to make the 3 or 4 easy shots around the rim that he gets each night.

Bentil turns his body instead of squaring up to defend or to take a charge.

Bentil needs the game to come to him. He seems really pumped out there all of the time.

He played down low before he got to Huntington when he was in Tenn. Why are you on Terrell so hard? ....1) then why does he refuse to look for the ball down low when we run our offense and he has someone 6'3 guarding him?......and you're are all missing the point....we have two players (again) capable of dribbling the basketball....Terrell would have been #3....So Cooley offering all these small forwards means he has no confidence in our current 3s (including Lindsey)?
My initial post was I wish we had the kid...we need players like him and based on our current guard situation (and at the time he was being recruited - no fortune....no chambers yet), I am shocked we backed off.....a frosh averaging 10pg is pretty damn good...and you may hate his shooting numbers but he's got Lindsey in boards...assts...steals...

We need outside shooting and a ball handler. You are not getting outside shooting from Terrell and your not getting ball handling from Lindsey.
Call it a wash..
Terrell has played in more games and minutes than Lindsey. I'll wait until the season is over before I go clamoring we needed Terrell and not Lindsey this season.
He had already shunned PC once also, so was it such a surprise there wasn't mutual admiration the second time around? Do we know for sure Cooley backed off or did Cooley back off because of the hand writing on the wall?
...gotta love friartown...

My guess is Terrell, whom I would like to have had also, was not landing here no matter what. No idea if there's anything more to it than jilted lover syndrome or what but I think it was off the board long before many of us knew the kid was even re-available. But we could use him, I agree.
My largest, biggest, loudest worry for this team was ball-handling depth. I was told we were fine in that area. I disagreed and last night didn't do anything but make me even more certain.
As for the rotation: more Chukwu, less CD. More Bentil, less Harris (notwithstanding his fine 2nd half last night), less Lyndsey unless he at least looks at the hoop offensively.
Ed's got his hands full figuring this out but I'm still bullish even though the BC/Brown games nearly led me to sharp objects and good-bye letters.

Also did we forget about Donovan Mitchell. At that time we thought we had him signed, sealed, and delivered. He wouldv'e taken care of the ball handling and outside shooting next year.

I know what was reported here...kmac reported that we were interested....then it was written here that we backed off....but there's no chance you can say we don't need a Terrell type on this roster...at least the way it's made up today...
..according to the other hood...mr Lindsey had zeros across the statline after 22 minutes last night....
Also did we forget about Donovan Mitchell.....I did not...but a huge error if that's why we didn't recruit him...especially if dun bolts....
Rock...well said...we are the exact opposite of fine until they get some confidence in jr or chambers gets healthy....

Maybe Cooley needs to start casting a larger net. The Donovan Mitchell, Josh Fortune leaving and Junior not living up to expectations could set us back. I hope Edwards is ready to contribute next year. I don't exactly have much faith in Fazekas and his guard skills either until I see it. We need another guard in next years class who can contribute and be a shot maker.

curious on the bullish prediction rock.....is it as simple as our young guys getting experience?
