Over on Friarbasketball.com Craig had a nice writeup on the surge in tickets since the Friars triumphant return to national relevance last year.
Here are some select tidbits, click link to read whole story:
My take is this is obviously good news. I think we'll definitely see an uptick across the board this year and would love to see the season average return to over 10k for the whole year not just in conference, those early season ones against lesser opponents kill us. Might be a tall order to get over 10k for the year but if Cooley keeps winning and bringing in recruits they'll get there.
The attendance from last season as a point of reference. (got this info from espn box scores).

Packing the Dunk
Many benefits stem from winning a Big East Championship – Most immediately, an NCAA Tournament berth. On a larger scale, it sparks a contagious state of excitement for a fan base. Despite the second round loss to North Carolina, that enthusiasm holds strong and its clear that the Friar Faithful want more in 2014-15. With just under a month to go, before Providence holds its first home game against Albany, Senior Associate AD/External Relations Steve Napolillo reports that season ticket sales are soaring...
...We’re really excited, last year we only sold 576 student tickets and as of today we’re well over 800 sold, with our goal still being over 1000,” said Napolillo by phone. The PC ticket office reports that the record for student season ticket sales came during Ryan Gomes’ junior season, in which 1,200 packages were purchased. Under the leadership of Athletic Director, Bob Driscoll, PC is determined to make this season a benchmark for the future....
...“We truly appreciate the students, they create such a great energy at home games, so it’s critical that they support the team,” said Napolillo. Many fans may not realize that Providence College only has 4,000 undergraduate students and for them to get 25% of the student body to buy season tickets is an incredible number.
Through the Keno Davis years and recent seasons, PC has hovered right around around 500 student season tickets sold. Prioritizing student attendance, the school expects the Dunk’ to remain one of the toughest arenas for opponents to play in.
In terms of public ticket sales, Napolillo reported that the school is in the midst of its third consecutive season of an increase in sales. “We will have over 5,000 season ticket holders this year and we were down to 3,000 just a few years ago. Our goal is to get that number up to 7,500, so the base will be really strong.” In line with season tickets, mini-packages and individual game tickets are also on the up-swing....
