Roll this around in your mouth a little
Alex Owens and Ben Bentil on the floor at the same time next year
Who's gonna back that duo down?
Plus 20 lbs for Paschal

Just for fun....
Setting aside what you already "know" about the magic carpet that was '86-'87 (unless you projected a Final Four run at the beginning of the year), who's front court would you take, based on paper at the beginning of the season?
Desrosiers & Chukwu vs. the depth (15 fouls) of an suddenly conditioned Duda, S Wright and the freshman version of Shamsid-Deen? Henton, Bentil and a healthy Bullock vs. Kipfer the freshman version of Conlon, and the injury plagued Snedeker? Harris & Lindsey vs. Pops Lewis, D Wright, Benham?
Unfortunately (and no offense to our star Kris Dunn), our backcourt lacks the depth, leadership and offensive fire power that Billy D, Brooks and a young Paco Screen Screen provided.
Defensively (and on paper), we project to be as strong in the paint, and have the length in our backcourt to be just as disruptive... but will this year's group have the cohesion and flat out defensive tenacity that Pitino instilled? Having a healthy Kris Dunn to disrupt the other team's point guard is a good start.
Will this year's group be able to replicate the gaudy 78.2% free throw shooting percentage of last year's team (doubtful as Cotton put up a good number of those shots)? The '86-'87 team shot their FT's at an 76.6% clip
Thoughts?
(Note: Before anyone looks to bash me - I am NOT suggesting that this yet to be tested roster could step on the court right now, and beat the '87 Team DURING it's Final Four run...)

HUGE.
Still thought this whole exercise was total BS by the NCAA - my understanding is that Bentil has been here for just about his entire secondary educational experience at a very legit prep school. Not only that but all reports indicate he did an outstanding job in the classroom - so what was the hold up about?
Shouldn't matter about his elementary education in Ghana if he demonstrated academic success in his high school course work...hence TOTAL BS in my mind's eye.
In any event this is now behind us and we will benefit as this young man develops. Let's remember he is a FRESHMAN. Word is also that he is one good guy too!!!

I prepared myself for a massive let down on this one. I figured if the NCAA hadn't cleared him by now there was no way they were going to....since they specialized in messing with the "little guy". This news is like getting a Christmas present that you didn't think was coming. Mikey

This news is like getting a Christmas present that you didn't think was coming. Mikey I think it would be interesting for Kmac to do some research and track how the appeal process actually works. I wonder what the timeline looks like. Was PC slow in submitting or retieving records from his hometown the main problem. But I would love to know how long the NCAA took from when they had everything to the decision. Obviously fans are excited about the news. But this has a major impact on a young man's future. These decisions should be made by Septemeber not late October so that the student can start school just like the rest of the freshman class.
